bored. . .wondering if I should make a change?
I understand how you feel. I initially entered the nursing world as an Lpn two years ago. I spent all of my career working in the nursing home where orientation as a new nurse lasted 3-5 days and that was it. I felt like i was thrown on a hall of 30 residents and expected to work magic in an eight hour time frame. I love my geriatric residents but i felt that as a nurse i had no room or time to appropriately take care of my patients. I couldn't truely critically think through the illnesses (besides s/s of uti). LTC helped me with my time management skills and attempting to delegate and multi-task (which i'm still working on), but it became routine and i began to crave something more challenging. I went back to school because in order for me to get a change of scenery and more doors to open I needed my RN. I want to be in the hosptial and maybe be a trauma or ICU nurse with exceptional clinical skills. I know I'm ranting but I've been holding this in for a long time and I've been a member on here since 2008 but only really read the post hardly responding. I just needed to vent too, I know my situation is a little different but it kind of feels the same. I want to be a great IV starter and have a preceptor the loves guiding and teaching just as much as he/she loves nursing. I have five months of school left and can't wait to start fresh again...I love nursing!!!!

Took my NCLEX-RN today!
I just did the "pearson vue trick" and it stopped me after I put my school code in. It wouldn't let me go any farther stating, "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. You can not register at this time." So I hope it works for as it has done for others!!!!!!

Took my NCLEX-RN today!
I want to start off by saying congrats to the new RN's and LPN's. I am new to the site but have been reading the forms for a little over a year now. I finally need a little encouragement outside my family and friend circle. I took my NCLEX-PN exam today at 8:00am. I walked in there with a little confidence and walked out with no confidence. The test was like no other test that I have ever taken before including the Ati Comprehensive Predictor (which stated that I had a 94% chance of passing the NCLEX-PN Exam). My test stopped at 135 and I had a lot of SATA questions, meds (that were not common), diease process questions. I went through my 15 months of school making A's and B's and not failing my classes. I thought I was well prepared to take my exam and was smart enough to have no doubts, but now I am having doubts. I studied the ATI study tools online and the NCLEX-pn 3rd edition disc. I also studied my notes from class, but I must admitt I didn't study much of the disease processes and it might be something that I should have studied. I want to know if everyone feels this way after taking the NCLEX? Should I be worried about stopping at 135, if my test questions kind of moved around a lot from different catorgeries is that I good sign. When should I do the pearson vue trick and how is it done accurately. I am sorry that I wrote a lot just nervous. Thank you for reading my post!!!!! :):):)
