  1. thanks, silverdragon102! :)found threads similar to my concerns but still i have unanswered question about the white card :)
  2. Hello! I have questions and i hope a "kababayan" or someone here knows the answers. THanks! :) The questions include: 1. regarding the registration at pearsonvue, did anyone here use a HSBC card? I did and my registration... 2. How many months/years is the validity of Vermont eligibility (the card card sent by the Vermont BON is the eligibility, right?). Because of the failure of my registration, i am more than 3 months eligible, hoping it has more than 3 months validity. 3. About the white card (eligibility card), do i have to fill up ALL of the blanks in that card including the back portion of the upper part? I will really appreciate any reply. Thanks so much in advance :) By the way, i emailed Vermont and i still didn't get a response. I guess they are very busy processing applications..
  3. well, kaplan is a 3-month long review course and they will give you a home study kit that you can bring home and study with. On the 1st 1-2 months will be the finishing the videos and home study kit, dpends when you can finish everything. On the 2nd month is your live class but it's better to attend to that after finishing all the things they require u before the live class. on the 2-3rd month is the question and answer. its really on you because you will be provided a guideline at u can follow or u can also not follow it. the bottom line is: you will have live classes, videos, q&a's.. the staffs are so accommodating and i know you will understand it more if you go to the center and ask. :) but i tell you, i like the materials and ambiance
  4. I have the re-printed and edited 3rd edition (i bought it late 2007) and honestly, content-wise it's almost the same. Only the critical thinking question ( 1 per topic) was changed to an alternate type of question, but the CD made the difference. :) I just want members from the Philippines who think P2300 is a lot of money to save the money if they have the edited 3rd edition and maybe borrow 4th edition CD and use the money to buy another saunders book, the alternate-type question book. BUt still, i wanna thank you for the replies you do to us members.. it's always appreciated :)
  5. Goodluck to you! I know someday, oneday, you'll be able to fullfill your dream of becoming a very successfull, happy nurse! After hardwork, i'm sure there will be pleasure by the end of the day. Make this as your stepping stone, as one doesn't really go straight to the top but rather will have to use the ladder/stairs to get there. I hope you'll be able to adjust to the weather quickly (they say it'll be like horrible for a person who came from a tropical country like ours.) Again, goodluck and hope you keep us updated! Oh, don't worry about being a caregiver for the meantime. I know it'll be hard with the work, climate, adjustments and everything but you can do it! Nurse assistants' role in the hospital area don't differ much with being a caregiver, right? Time will come you'll be working as a real RN and you can delegate the tasks that you do as a caregiver to the nurse assistants
  6. hi!! i have a related concern.. i received my white card from Vermont which i'm supposed to return with the candidate number. My concern is, will i have to fill ALL (as in ALL--back and front!) of the blanks with my contact informations? Please help! thanks so mush!
  7. hi! :) good to hear members from baguio! :) well, i enrolled at Kaplan, Baguio City just last Aug 20 but only went to the center to review for 4-5 days because of the many holidays we had! haha! But so far, so good! I like the ambiance, it's just that you really have to have that drive to study because it's basically, on the 1st 1-2 months especially, a self-study! To those reviewing in Kaplan Baguio, see you there! :) Oh, thanks mriane and cellardoor for the recommendations! :) chillout, i have both the 3rd and 4th edition and i'll try to incorporate suzanne's tip with my kaplan (during free time) and let's see if it will work :)
  8. Hi! i like reading everyones posts and i just want to say something about what u posted. :) well, i am a clinical instructor and i'd say, don't be afraid to say "NO" especially if you think what u're about to do will harm you. And besides, only your CI can actually ask you to do something. If the staff ask you to do something, tell them politely, in a nice way, that you have to tell your CI first, and i assure u u're not being rude but just being careful. Don't do what you're not supposed to do. :) I myself was asked by an anesthesiologist during emergency (critical, actually) operation to hook the next IV fluid but i refused. I asked the circulating nurse to do it because it's not in my work description as a clinical instructor :)
  9. Hi! Yeah, too late for me to realize that. I should have just go on with the 3rd editon. I have my 3rd edition but i still went on to buy the 4th edition just today! i looked at the 4th edition right away and compare, chapter by chapter! they are very much the same except for few pictures! even the questions are the same.. only that the critical question (1 every topic) was replaced by 1 new-format question. I should have just borrowed a 4th edition CD from a friend and if i can't find one, bought delegation book by la charity and saunders Q&A new format.
  10. thanks, suzanne and nursemich! i appreciate the replies! :) i don't have p2200 now because i'm saving my money for kaplan review course (i will start august 18)... (i hope i have the time to read it by heart... kaplan has a very tight schedule) thread edited to conform to the tos. soliciting is not permitted here. suzanne4
  11. hi, nursemich! did you use the 4th edition of saunders? i bought the 3rd edition last year but nevr used it. i'm afaid it might go to waste if i buy the 4th edition if they are almost similar in contents
  12. hi! did you use the 4th edition of saunders comprehensive review or the 3rd edition? i bought my 3rd edition last year but never used it. i plan to use it now for the nclex exam which i plan to schedule october or early nov.. thanks!! :)
  13. I only have the Saunders 3rd edition.. Do you think i can still use that or do i really have to buy the new one? Because if there's only some little changes i don't think i need to...? I also plan to buy the kaplan book and enroll at NCSBN...thanks so much!
  14. Question: Since most of you used Saunders Comprehensive review, I want to ask if i should buy the 4th (latest) edition? I have the 3rd edition but my exam will be scheduled Oct-Nov this year (2008). Do you think I need to buy the new one? I need opinions... Thanks! And also, is the Kaplan nclex-RN strategy book 2008-2009 edition out? Because i am thinking about buying the 2007-2008 edition. Thanks so much!! :)
  15. Hello! I am new here and i really need your help. I want to know what review centers in Manila or Baguio do you recommend? (Baguio is my 1st choice). But i have 2 review centers in mind -- KAPLAN and GAPUZ. My problem is that kaplan has a very long course review and i will have very few time to study other references/books/CDs. Whereas if i review in Gapuz, I can have more time for other references. But i need your opinions please... thanks so much!
