  1. My friend had taken the dosage calculation test this morning and after she took it, she called me hysterical because there was a question on there she wasn't sure about. The doctor ordered 1 grain/200; availible is 30 mg,how much should you give the patient? I already took my test and got 100% on it, but being a prenursing student, I didn't know what this meant exactly. She said that there was no unit on the 200. Was this a typo on the test or can you tell me how to figure this out. Thanx alot!
  2. This is probably going to sound conceeded but, I have this study buddy who is really starting to get on my nerves. Me and her are both going into the nurses program at our college and it seems like she basically wants me to hold her hand and walk her through college. Constantly trying to mooch answers off of me because she knows I am a straight A student. I'm the kind of person who studies better on my own. I have kids and a very busy life and I do not have time to tutor anyone. This is my personnal challenge and I do not have room for academic moochers. Did any of you have this problem? How can I break up with my study buddy? She is in some of my classes next semester. Help! what do I do?
  3. Wow,that would make me blush! I guess crazy incidences give you something to laugh about at the end of the day. LOL
  4. Yeah, I'm in pre-nursing right now! So, I have aways to go. I figured feeling embarassed about VERY intimate care would just be a temporary thing until it was no longer a big deal. Thanx for the feed back!
  5. You guys are silly. Thanks for making me smile. LOL:chuckle:jester:
  6. Yeah, I mean as far as what needs to be done. Is the catheter(urinary) thing the most awkward? Or does it get worse?:wink2:
  7. I was just curious as to what some of the most awkward things a basic RN has do do to meet doc's orders.
  8. I have always had an interest in nueroscience and how the brain works. I was wondering if any nurses out there could tell me a little bit about their experiences in a field of such. Good or bad. Just curious to see what I would be in for and if it's for me. Thanks!
  9. I have a practice dosage calculation test and I was able to figure out all of the doses correctly, except for this one: order: Ancef 500mg. available : 1g. directions: reconstitute with 2.5 mL normal saline to yield 3 ml. worth a concentration of 330 mg/ml. I know that the correct answer is 1.5 ml. I set up this proportion to come up with 1.5 ml.I was wondering if this is the correct way!1000 mg/3 ml X 500mg/x ml
