Need some advice
Couldn't agree with you more Mandy, time feels to fly so fast. Yes it LNA is licensed nurse assistant. However I cannot be enrolled in a course becuase i called the closest hospitals approx 25 35 minutes away. However i all are full and classes have already started. I will have to wait for about 3-6 months. Time will fly though! haha Ill get right on that position when its available next time.

Guys- what made you want to become a nurse?
Im not a nursing student. However this career has been pondering my mind for over a year. The reason is I'm 18, still young and really don't know if this is something I want to do. Though the reason why I want to become a nurse, is to dedicate my life to my mother. She passed in 06, knowing why she became a nurse is something I feel eternally great full for. I can see greatness in life if I go into nursing. I guess only time will tell.

Need some advice
Hey everyone, I'm here today to find some serious help. I was declined a position for an LNA training course at my local hospital, next option is to wait. However I called the VNA and they told me they were looking for someone to do visits. Pretty much going to people's houses and doing chores for them, considering it would be a good step if I wanted to get the experience, as well as a possible acceptance for the next training class available. However for right now, I was thinking it would be a good idea to call a local nursing home to get a more in depth view of life as a nurse. Being a guy, it might seem awkward, but that doesn't worry me much. Right now I'm just really stuck, I want to find a job in healthcare where I can get experience, however it is quite hard to find a job without any kind of licensure. Truly this is something I want to do, nursing or something like occupational therapy. What considerations or recommendations do you have? Should I go to a nursing home and talk with a nurse? Im very focused on school more than ever, I will be going full time next semester for sure. I thank you, wishing you the best. Theodore Rhoades

I'm a graduating nursing student...and I know NOTHING!!!!
Please, dont you worry! I may just be a high school senior. I dont know what its like. But just advice, you do know alot. You are the one who passed the exams, you are the one who got yourself into this program with a bright outlook. Just remember this is going to be a good day, you will be fine. This is your life, just this moment you need to reflect on the terms in which you have expirenced. Hope it all goes well! I hope to go to nursing school after high school. And no, NOT FOR THE MONEY! I have alot of faith in what I want to achive in life and to learn the responsibiltys that are required. Again, just relax it will be over, success is what you recive.

Hey all! On a side thought, I was thinking about going to a community college to go get pre reqs in order to move onto tech program for LPN. However, I was thinking about possibly joining the military, Navy even? Im not sure, It would be somthing that would change me drasticly in many positive ways. With so many advantages in store that would not be regreted. Is there anyone here who has chosen to join the Navy or even any branch of the military, then onto nursing? What are your thoughts and opionons? Also, does anyone know of any good scholorships to look for? I heard tylenol had one, however im not sure if they stopped. Illl give them a call tommrow. Any advice will be awsome. Thanks so much!

Need some help!
Hey everyone. So I am a senior, considering college in the future. Planning to got to CCV, community college of vermont. In consideration with pre reqs and such, would getting a certificate be a good action plan to start? The course is called allied health prep, which covers nutrition, anotomy ect... Then to move onto the nursing program. I was just wondering what steps would be best on my part. Heres the site if anyone would please help me, what would be your decision on a good move. Also considering a certificate to have a better paying job. Heres the website http://www.ccv.edu/allied_health_certificate

Right now is there any LPNs that want to tell there ideas about why they chose to get into the program? My dreams I guess are abit far feched. Finding a career to become sucessful. A job where i can travel the world making enough money. My general question is it worth it?

Is the pay really that bad??
honestly we shall not complain about any job that we have. We are blessed to have the freedom that we have. Look at the 3rd world contries, africa! oh my god nurses work there ass off and make probably close to nothing. Be greatfull for what you earn, people you meet. Be greatfull your not living on the streets because of a tainted government. Thats how i see it, in some instances we have it easy in a way
