Does STRAP program accept online classes?
its true atleast from my recruiters words, that STRAP is a reserves program. However, once you have your BSN you do have the option to do a new contract to fulfill your reserves owed time on active duty. The benefit to this is currrent offer of 30,000 for BSN nurses and then up to 120,000 paid back in student loans over 4 yrs. I really want to do the online though! I think I might skip STRAP get the BSN on my own then join active and have them pay it all back for me!!

Does STRAP program accept online classes?
Hi, I'm an ADN nurse thinking about joining the STRAP program which will give me a monthly stipend to go back to school for my BSN. Does anyone know if there are any stipulations about getting your BSN online while in the STRAP program? I was considering University of Phoenix online because then I would be able to keep my job while receving STRAP stipend and start digging myself out of a financial hole. My plan is to go fulfill my time on active duty once I complete the BSN so I can get up to 120,000 toward loans. Any suggestions would very appreciated! Thanku

1 yr medsurg exp considering army nurse active duty
Thanx for the info. I actually have an AD in Liberal Arts and took some bachelors level nursing classes while getting my ADN so I only have 14 credits to complete my BSN. It would be great to complete the degree quickly without getting into further debt, I will def ask about the STRAP prog. Best of luck to you also :)

1 yr medsurg exp considering army nurse active duty
I'm a 26 y/o RN with an ADN and 1 yr exp med/surg looking for a way to pay off some hefty student loans. I've looked into other programs such as NERLP, IHSLRP (basic govt funded and civil serv jobs servicing rural or Indian areas) but these programs are extremely competitive & slow moving. There is sooo much info out there about army nursing that I don't know where to begin. I've visited the website, read all the threads I could get my eyes on. Anyone have any suggestions for concrete questions to ask a recruiter?
