  1. I'm not sure what LTC facility in particular you are mentioning but some facilities actually have medically complex/rehab patients. It will never be like a hospital but somedays & with some patients it is mighty close. I have worked in a nursing& rehab center where the second floor was long term & the first floor rehab. I've worked with pts with trachs, g-tubes, LVADs, wound life vests, administered peritoneal dialysis, and learned a lot! Make sure the place you work has a rehab unit with medically complex patients. Look into an organization named Manor Care
  2. The LPN license in IL expires every year. So essentially you can have the license as long as you want just renew it every year. I'm not sure how it will work for New York, but it should be similar. I hope this answers your question.
  3. Once you get your New York license you can apply for reciprocity in North Carolina. Call the North Carolina state board office for the specifics, such as will you need fingerprints, etc. I don't live in NC so I'm not sure where you can find a job, but I know that there is a ManorCare in NC that you can apply to. I'm not certain what it is in. Good Luck!
  4. I wear Nike shoxs they are extremely comfortable & supportive! Please don't go cheap & make sure to change your shoes every 3 months.
