Thank you again for your response Preeps! :) If a GN doesn't stay the full two years then they are subjected to pay a prorated amount of $13,500, depending on how long you stay (i.e., if you stay 1 yr vs 2 yrs, the GN has to pay back half, so $6750 and so forth). I guess it has to do with the cost of training a GN, but I've heard other Critical Care GN programs have GNs sign a $2500 contract which they are subjected to pay if they don't fulfill the whole 2 years. I'm a bit skeptical as to why FH's contract is so steep compared to other hospital's in Florida and just wanted to get feedback from FH employees to see if it was a risk to take. As far as benefits go do you feel that they are competitive compared to other hospitals? I've heard that holiday pay comes out of the 20-21 annual Paid Days Off that are given to employees as well as hours to fulfill an 80 hr paycheck. Is this true? Thanks again for your input :)

Hi Preeps! Thank you for your response. I did get an offer and am just weighing my options because of the 13,500 contract they are asking GNs to sign. Do you think it's worth it? Do you like working for the FH system?

Does anyone know any specifics about working at Florida Hospital as a new grad? Do you get paid extra working in a specialty unit such as ICU or ED? If you work holidays do you get paid double pay? Thanks!
