  1. I believe there is a fellowship program in Massachusetts. I've been researching job prospects and it's starting to look to me as though the scale has tipped in favor of derm PAs being hired over derm NPs almost everywhere except Washington state, Massachusetts & Kentucky. Has anyone else noticed this same pattern? I
  2. Yes I suppose you hear all different opinions. I suppose I'm most offended by the negativity and utter discouragment from administration. It seems I'm paying them an awful lot to teach me, not try to discouragement me & others from being a nurse. Once again--a disgrace.
  3. I just started my LPN/RN program in August. I won't mention the name of the school just yet, but it's atrocious!! It is advertised as a two-year ADN program which is why I am going there, but since the first day, they haven't stopped STRONGLY discouraging us from continuing to year 2 as RNs. They expect a straight A average, faculty & healthcare references and clinical expertise right off the bat. They take tuition money and keep trying to eliminate as many people as possible. It is a disgrace. Is anyone else experiencing this?? Anyway, after my recent clinical--I received the notice that I'm not "transferring my eduction to the clinical environment." Does anyone have any advice on how to let instructors know you understand the material! Meanwhile, of course, the clinical evals are not being judged fairly--(of course, right). Some people are being praised and barely reviewed while others are being picked apart to death. How do you cope when you feel your school should be sued:eek:??
  4. WOW, that's amazing. I wish there was a program in my state!! Does anyone know if the lpn-bsn online through Indiana State is OK??
  5. This job offer is in a LTC facility. I've had experience with body fluids, etc. years ago as a dental assistant. Are there any other positions in the healthcare field other than nurse aide that would provide good work experience while someone is studying for the LPN/RN?
  6. I'm going to be starting nursing school in August. I have been accepted into a CNA training program that starts next week. I thought it would be good work experience & would be some income to get through school. However, I've been strongly advised that the nurse aide job will burn me out before I even begin nursing, jeopardizing sticking with the grueling class schedule. Can someone please tell me what the actual job duties are for a nurse aide vs. an RN?? Is it mainly wiping backsides and cleaning pee and :uhoh21:vomit like I'm being told??? I apologize if I sound ignorant. Thanks.
