  1. I've been an LPN for 1 year now, and have been working at a clinic. I really like my job, but the pay is terrible. I have the opportunity to work at a LTC 7-3 days with every other weekend, for 30 residents. I realize that in LTC the work is more stressful and physically demanding, but the pay is great. I am having a hard time making the decision and any advice would be appreciated.
  2. I've been working in a doctor's office now for about 8 months. I am a fairly new nurse (1 year) and find most of the work very boring, with almost no patient contact. I'm actually on the phone to patients, pharmacies, insurance companies for most of the day. Good side is that there is hardly any stress. I was just offered a job at a LTC on days 7 - 3 working every other weekend. The pay is $4.00 an hour more than I am currently getting. I am very skeptical about taking this because of all of the horror stories I have heard about working at a LTC. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  3. Does anyone know what the salary for an LPN in the Lehigh Valley is?

I am considering a LTC facility for night shift (ll-7) Mondays - Fridays, no weekends. Pay is much better than at the clinic that I am now working. I am concerned about the night shift. I never worked this shift and am hoping someone can give me some input on the good and bad. I am a single mom with 2 kids in high school. Thanks in advance for your help.
  5. Hi everyone, I know that most Home Health agencies require at least one year of experience when hiring an LPN. Does anyone know if that experience must be in a hopital, LTC, or is a physician's clinic considered enough experience?
  6. I am a new LPN graduate at 48 years old. I am looking into working in a Florida Department of Health clinic. Does anyone have any comments on working in a state public health clinic vs a private physician office? Thanks in advance for your help.
