  1. our policy is qhr iv checks. Don't feel bad like others said IV infiltrates happen and if this is your first serious case in 20yrs of nursing, need I say more...think of it as a learning expeirence and now be more cautious. Suspension??? i think thats crazy. If the right steps were taken to decrease any s/s of the infiltration I don't feel that such harsh steps should be taken....don't know if you could tell me but what hospital is this???
  2. depends in my hospital NICU if there 3:3 than we do one q12hrs unless otherwise indicated and of course if the bp is out of norm those who are 1:1 we take the quite frequently due to the fact that they are on a thousand meds. In our peds unit we take 1 blood pressure upon admit and really thats it. unless, of course we deem it necessary. good rule of them. I was taught that for any child ages 1-7 you can average their systolic bp as followed (age in yrs + 90) don't know if that is still the case since prehypertension came into play
  3. so, I have this job offer at a correctional facility for men ages 18-25. Is it dangerous? what types of inmates/situations can arise from being a female rn?? are we protected as nurses in such facilities?? Any reasurring information or any info at all would be greatly appreciated...I know there must me millions of female rns is this field if anyone is willing to talk to me that would be great....If anyone is willing to give me some info of what to expect during the interview process, I'm all ears!!
