  1. 1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 134-136 2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? kaplan... all kaplan. took the live review course (horrible, but just cuz of the teacher); 3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? ati, 98% chance of passing nclex on 1st try... complete joke, wouldnt trust the ati to pass the nclex for anything, but it does work for some. 4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 2 days... passed! 5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i failed... layed in bed crying for 2 days and tried to get over the fact that i failed...until i saw the results. 6. was this your first attempt at nclex? yess
  2. I think you are more than ready to take the exam, but of course that is really up to you. I felt the same way 1 week b4 I took my exam and was so0o close to changing my appt, but I kept doing the questions and realized there was nuttin more i can do.... besides I was wayyy too tired to study anymore. I also took ATI in school (for 2 years) and got a 98% on my predictor. Honestly tho, if i just would have studied ATI, I would have failed b/c i dont think it gives you any of the strategies or knowledge to past the test. But everything else you have been doing are really great. I got a 66% on Saunders (application q's) and passed the NCLEX. You'll be fine, just be confident and get a good night's sleep. TRUST ME! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
  3. This post is for all those who are planning to take the NCLEX-RN and have been doing Kaplan. I hope this calms everyones anxiety a bit. I just took the NCLEX 2 days ago and just got my grade... PASSED!!! YAY!!! All I have studied since the end of class was Kaplan and thank God! B4 Kaplan, I was doing ATI in class, which was a joke! The NCLEX is very, very similar to Kaplan and actually a lil easier in my opinion. My Kaplan teacher was sorta... horrible...and my scores weren't the best either. QT 1= 54 QT2 = 67 QT 3= didnt even do it! QT 4= 58 QT5= 61 QT 6= 63 QT 7= 65 QBank= 61% ; lowest Qbank= 18%, highest=83% Trust me, I was guessing for the most part while taking these tests and that's not a good feeling just a couple of days b4 the exam. Some friends of mine didnt even get to the 60% mark on KAPLAN and still passed (and with fewer questions on the exam than me)!!!!! If you really feel like ur not ready than keep doing questions... but as long as you understand the basic concepts, you're going to be fine!!! Most importantly, don't let the exam get the best of you. NCLEX has a way of playing mind tricks on even the smartest person. As we all know, it's computer adaptive, so the whole logic behind that is... "if it gets to0 hard, you're doing good; if it gets to0 easy, might as well give up." That is not the case!! I was freaking out after like the 15th question cuz it juss seemed like it was more common sense than anything, so of course I started reading too much into the question and making dumb mistakes, thinking the exam was trying to trick me. At that point, my confidence was non-existent! I had to close my eyes for a few minutes and refocus and just pick the answer that I kno is right (even if it does seem to0 easy of an answer). I g0t up to 136 questions b4 the computer shut off and I KNEW that I failed. All my friends passed with 75 questions, which lowered my confidence even more. Turns out, I passed!! So long story short, KAPLAN W0RKS!!! Didn't do any other studying besides Kaplan, didnt redo my questions either. And just because your exam didnt stop at 75 doesnt mean u automatically failed. I kno just as many ppl who stopped at 75 and did fail. Just have confidence in yourself that you understand the material and the computer will do the rest. If I can do it, you can definitely do it!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! :yeah:
