Thanks for your fast reply. I see that SC is a compact state, but FL is not. My license state is FL.

canNOT find a job in No FL....moving
My husbands family lives in SC, so we will be moving as soon as kids are out of school for the summer(I plan on leaving in Feb, ahead of them to look for work). I've done some online job searches in the Charleston area and there seems to be a good bit available. I have the paperwork to apply for endorsement to gain my SC nursing license, I'm an LPN. One hiccup is that i have to be a resident of SC first before I can apply for endorsement. I may can overcome that, my question is when I gain a SC license, what becomes of my FL license? Does it go away? Will I always be licensed in FL and required to pay my fee every 2yrs? I have looked into the Navy Nurse Corps, Nurse Candidate Program, but the recruiter told me the program was full for this year AND next! Ugh! I have got to find a job. Agency is not calling with any availabilities. SC looks like my last option.

ADN online programs?
Copying my post from the LPN/LVN thread- Well, I am very disappointed. I wasn't very well informed on Excelsior College? You guys familiar with them? I did NOT realize they are an 'exam only' college. How can they advertise the way they do and not offer true online courses? I paid my first enrollment fee today(i had it split into 6 payments), and then they transferred me over to an admission counselor. That is where I found out that they only offer the exams and 'suggestions' on study material! Huh? I will call on Monday and see if I can get my money refunded, if not, it's a lesson learned I suppose. Anyone here know of any really good ONLINE LPN to RN program? Where you actually have courses online, tests, exams, etc. Like a normal college with online courses? I cannot afford to quit and go to school in person and need to do it online. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

former Navy wife, now considering Army Nursing...
My husband retired from the Navy after 20yrs. He sadly misses the military life, and is thrilled at the possibility of getting a taste of that back, through me. I'm currently a LPN, recently applied to an ASN program. If I've read through some of these post correctly, my only option at this point would be the Army Reserves, is that right? Is OBLC required for the Reserves too? I read the new requirements post, and to be honest it frightened me, lol! I was the "spouse", and to be the military member would be a huge turn around. I am currently a nurse in a long term care facility, only because the pay is better there for an LPN than a hospital. I so deeply want to work in a hospital, but can't afford civilian pay to do it. I was approached with the idea of Army nursing, and am seriously considering it. Questions...what is this "STRAP" I've read of? Would the reserves pay for my RN that way? Would I have to quit my job that I'm at now to go to school? What school would it be? I'm 34 and a mom of 6, and really want more for my family. We are used to military life and really miss it. Thanks in advance for any answers/help.
