  1. It's quite unfortunate that instead of polishing skills first, most new nursing graduates prefer to take the NCLEX or in this case, post-graduate studies even without the benefit of any actual hospital experience. Nurses with master's degree but mediocre skills is becoming common nowadays as more and more unemployed nurses are more focused with adding suffixes to their name and boasting to everyone that they're now a USRN even though they're still bumming around. Can't really blame them though since it's quite quite hard to get employed unless you know someone on the inside. That's why a significant portion of those taking Masters are usually unemployed or have no nursing experience. Shame.
  2. Hi. What's your priority date Ms. RowdyRN? Right now it's at May 2005 for EB3 visas in the Philippines. It hasn't moved in months and was actually Unavailable for a several Visa Bulletins this year.
  3. Just graduated last March 2008 and took the boards this June. The thing is, I'm a chronic carrier of Hepatitis B. I already searched the forums and from what I've read, hospitals in the USA, Canada, UK etc do hire nurses with Hepatitis B. But information with regards to hospitals here in the Philippines isn't quite as definite. From the few replies I've read, hospitals here seem to be stricter in hiring nurses with Hepatitis B and Hepa B test is one of the requirements for employment. Anyone know any exact info if hospitals in the Philippines are hiring nurses with Hepatitis B? Anyone with Hepatitis B that was hired recently? Obviously, hospitals have different requirements but it would be nice to hear some info about the topic. Thanks!
