I just did a 20 page search and got some helpful info on my questions above. However, I have one more question that I could not find the answer to. How copetetive is the Navy Nurse Candidate Program? I only have one year of college finished, which is in coursework unrelated to nursing. I've always wanted to join the military and am very interested in nursing. I turn 26 at the end of this month. I'm torn between enlisting under a Specwar contract (which I'm also very interested in) and going to school for another year or so and then applying for the NCP program. I figure if the NCP program is rediculously hard to get into, I would go the other route. I would be happy either way. What do you suggest? Should I go to school for another year in hopes to get a commission as a Navy nurse? Or enlist now in something else that I'm also very interested in? I figure that if I go back to school and apply for NCP (and don't get accepted), I will then be able to enlist with a higher rank due to my college credits. Thanks, Jake

I was wondering if there are any differences between civilian nursing and military nursing. How would you compare and contrast the daily duties of the two? Are they vastly different, or very similar? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Jake
