did you get that murphy icu position. icu is what i want. i was a couple days too late for that one. all the other available icu jobs in nc are at larger facilities so that may be part of my problem coming from a smaller community hospital. i'm w/ trinity and onassignment, both reputable companies and i like my recruiters. one of them told me today that nc is notorious for a slow response, don't know how true that is. he also had a good point, that if they can hold out another couple weeks they will have you over christmas. he said he has noticed a big slow down in hiring across the board right now. that was my plan, to start around the 15th so that i could be home for christmas. oh well. good luck in your traveling adventures. i hope you enjoy it. by the way, what companies are you with?

i am new to traveling, in fact i am trying to get my first assignment. i have 23+ years of icu experience at the same facility. i have not been able to get a job. i want to go to north carolina and have been submitted for 10 jobs. so far, no one has even called me. my application should look good, i have very good references. i believe i am w/ a good company, trinity healthcare staffing. i am w/ a couple other companies but one has no jobs in nc and the other has the same openings. my recruiter thinks this may be due to me being a first time traveler and the fact that i come from a small facility and the hospitals we have submitted to are larger. i was also wondering if the fact that i have had the same job for 23 years might be a contributing factor. (thus set in my ways) i am getting pretty nervous about me being unemployed. how long after submission should i expect a phone call? what can i do, if anything to get a job? any suggestions or words of encouragement? i was told i made the 'short list' at one of the facilities but still no phone call. i live in kansas and have the option of applying for jobs here, but that is not the point, i want out. nc is the only other license i have so far. help!!!!
