  1. From what I understood from what the man from fin aid said at orientation your it will automatically pay your tuition. Then the rest will be sent to you school account to with the option to use it to pay for books. If you don't buy any books via theschool bookstore then the money will be sent to you. Some schools will direct deposit the remainder into your bank account, but since I don't think they ever ask for it, it will prob be mailed to you.
  2. originally posted by smiley2334 i got in to south campus...im sooo excited!! did anyone sign up with the same reference numbers as me?? 375383 [color=dimgray]hsc1151 377154 [color=dimgray]mtb1370 375391 [color=dimgray]nur1020 375395 [color=dimgray]nur1020l 375440 [color=dimgray]nur1210 375442 [color=dimgray]nur1210l looks like ill have math with you guys. i finally got my block cleared but was on the turnpike driving home. i ended up calling my sister and having her log on:typing and register for me. i'm sooooo glad i did cause the seats at south filled up quick!my classes are: 375388 hsc 377154 mtb 375391 nur i 375397 nur i l 375440 nur ii 375447 nur ii l i dropped the mtb 377155 class when i made it home as saw that the dean teaches that class. i was like noooo way! i'm outta here! 375
  3. I have a block on mine. My Chemistry did not transfer in correctly so now I have to wait for someone to get back to me and fix it THENNNN I can register. I would go up there and get it fixed but I'm 4 hours away!
  4. The shots are listed in your medical exam packet on pg 2 i belive. The doc office should know how to fill it out. The num of hours for your ceus may vary if you take them at ceufast.com namely the tb/osha/hep set. I belive if you take them at ceufast they total 8hrs and is acceptable for the program.
  5. OKAY I GOT THE EMAIL!! You know what sucks is I have my Broward.edu email forward to my gmail account and I haD the email sitting there in my BC inbox all along since YESTERDAY and it still hasn't forwarded to my gmail account!
  6. I'm thinking about going to Central. Right now I about 1/2 way between North and Central, but I plan on purchasing a house this year closer to South so who knows.
  7. Hey Sunraygurl, Is your orientation at Central? I called Twana again and she said she got my emails (I wasn't taking any chances I emailed her and told her I would be there email or not!) and she said she was working out some problems and that she would extend my deadline to reply until Thursday.
  8. So I took your advice and called Twana today. I told her I hadn't received any emails and she sounded like she was unware that I hadn't received it. She kept saying you should have received it. So she said she'd send me another one, but my orientation is on July 9th at 9am. I supposed at central, I didn't get that far in the convo since she said I would be getting the email with all the info. If you haven't received it I would call TODAY since I hear the deadline to reply is today. I still haven't received the email though. I'll wait until about 3pm before I call her again.
  9. i did all of my classes on this website except for hiv/aids (did is online through bc) and bls. i went to center for career training in lauderhill for the bls. since i deferred my seat, i can't turn in my packet/caes until the upcoming session, but i don't think there will be any problems since they are the ones who instructed me to take them on this website. they had to give us other options to take the caes because we were notified of our admission about 3 weeks before the may class started. i assume we were all alternates or people who they had on their one "internal wait list" and were offered seats as peopel deferred/declined.
  10. this is what you need to take to complete the osha/tb/hepatitis on the ceufast websit: hepatitis c 2 hours infection control and berrier precautions 4 hours tuberculosis 2 hours i asked chinara in admissions who was the person who lead our orientation and she instructed me to take these to = the 6 hour course at broward.
  11. i attended the may class orientation but deferred my seat. ceufast.com is one of two sites they give you to complete your certs. i took all of them expect the hiv/aids and the bls on this site. you can't take hiv/aids on this site because it's only 1 hour and i think you need 4 hours and you must do the first cert for bls in person. you can only do the re-cert online. they will explain everything to you though. with the exception of bls there's no need to rush, you can take your time and do them online.
  12. Yeah you guys that are still waiting keep a positive attitude! Even if you don't get notified with this round of acceptance, you may even get a denial, there is still a GREAT chance that you will get in as an alternate. People defer a lot or chose to go to other schools/programs. Speak positivity like Faith8_88!
  13. i just remebered something. when i applied last time they sent us this email: dear nursing applicant. broward college's (bc) health science admission office reviewed your academic records. you can now view your application status by logging into your mybc account on the broward college website at www.broward.edu. 1. log in to your mybc account using your student id# and your pin. 2. then click on the ?limited access application status? icon located on the bottom left of your homepage. you will be able to view your health science application status and points received to be considered for admission. if you have questions or concerns please, email us at [email protected]. if you are selected for admission, specific instructions will be sent to your free bc email account by friday, february 13, 2009. thank you for choosing broward college. so maybe your status change is the first notification of acceptance.
  14. The Miami VA will start ASN grads wo zero experiance at $25.00 plus a sign on bonus. That's the lowest they start you at. You can make more with LPN experience or a BSN. The VA may be the only place that seriously takes into consideration the level of the degree you obtained (ASN vs. BSN).
  15. Honestly I don't know, but if I had to guess I would say no simply because they are strictly on a point system. It would be different if you had to say give letters of recommendation, show volunteer hours, and have an interview. In those cases, they are looking more closely at the merit of person and would probably frown on retaking classes if you did poorly the first time. BC seems to only look at how many points you ultimately have when you turn in your packet.
  16. I'd say you have a good chance. 9 pts for GPA + 5 pts for HOSA+ 1 more if you're a Broward county resident= 15. Good luck!
  17. I think so. I'm not sure since I mailed my app in, but I've been working with her since the pre-admission orientation. She works with Twana and always smiles and answers all my questions.
  18. LOL I don't need an assualt and battery charge on my background check right about now. I think Chinara in Health Sciences admissions is nice and Liz in advising is REALLLY nice.
  19. Hey Everyone! Anybody out there applied for the August 2009 class? I know there are a couple of people on here including myself who are deferred until August. Where r u guys at?! Good luck to those who start classes tomorrow and good luck to those anxiously waiting the May 15th application deadline! Side note- Can ANYBODY please tell me why the faculty at BC are sooooooooooo mean?!?! :angryfireI just left the north campus and some of them act like I just killed their mother! I'm trying soo hard to be nice, but some of them make me wanna take my earrings and heels off and jump over the counter!! :smiley_abj/k lol
  20. I agree with many of the posters here in saying that if you are having this problem, maybe you should speak with the co-workers that you are having this problem with...and yeah, it was a little condescending: "So, you get five minutes behind. You can easily catch up." You can EASILY catch up? I was an aid myself and just like nurses have things that are their list of things to do, so do we and it's not always that "easy" to just catch up.
  21. You also have to have taken HOSA at a school which has an agreement with BC (mainly Broward County schools) to get those 5 points. I had taken HOSA in High school (Marion County) and they accepted the class as a waiver for HCP but I did not get the 5 points because they did not have a curriculum agreement with my H.S. That really sucked.
  22. In case anyone is still waiting, I deferred my seat this Wednesday at the pre-admission orientation along with about 2 other people so that means there are 3 more seats available. The told us they would be calling people that day to offer them our seats! The lady at the orientation said our group (about 25 people) would all be starting at Central since they still have seats and even with our group there are still seats available...go figure. Since I deferred, I am guaranteed a seat in August and I can chose which campus to attend. I am soo happy and it give me more time to prepare with work and all and get all of my stuff in. Thanks to all of you ESPECIALLY 2bnurse-1 who kept me encouraged. Good luck to those starting in May...can't wait to hear your feedback!
  23. Wow it's been like 6 months since I last posted on this board. I FINALLLYY got accepted into BC!!! I just got a call from admissions who told me to check my email because I had gotten in for May 12th summer semester. Wow! I'm going to have to defer though since I stopped the process of getting all the requirements after they initially denied me. YAAAAY MEEE!!!
  24. All together I had about 11-12 points.
  25. Don't feel bad that was what mine was too. :wink2:
