For Southern California Nurses
i agree with freeflowchi, Farsi is dominant in Los angeles. In everly hills they make the persian new year "nowrooz" a holiday. in school the calendar states "national holiday". there is a very large farsi speaking group in LA from what ive found out.

CNA shoes - what kind to get?
I would reccomend "nursemates" shoes. their a brand that makes shoes specifically for nurses and other hospital personel. they have many different styles they are very comfortable, as ido many 16 hour shifts these shoes feel as if its surrounded in pillows, mind you after 16 hours it might feel sore from standing and running around alot however they are absolutely very comfortable. if you were crocs, i dont know if this depends on where you live but where i live you are not covered by the local commission of health and work security. ( they provide sick leav with pay if you fall ro injure urself for a work related accident) if you fall and you were wearing crocs or any shoe that is not closed or opened in the back , shoes that have a clog like appearance, you will not be covered !! so protection and comfort are very important check out : Nursemates.com - The Official Nurse Mates Shoes Website

Lost job over HIPAA violation, what is employment potential?
Everyone pretty much answered your question however you have asked is this acceptable that they would ask her to quit or they would fire her?? when i was in school ( few years ago) the principle went into every cleass to talk about taking pictures of people without their consent. The person who's picture was taken and if they did not consent to the picture, they have the right to sue you.. and the school will provide the lawyer.. for the inocent person who did not consent to the taking of photo. it is illigle to take a picture without consent. the hospital is responsible on ur family members behalf ( RN who took the picture)..from your story.. it sounds as if she was 100% wrong and guilty of taking the pic... and tht nothing can save her from her job at all. giving her the option to quit is giving her wtv dignity she has left and if she is stubborn and reluctant to leave she will get what she has coming and thats getting fired !!!!!!!!

Where to find lpn course in montreal quebec???
Hi DerekM, i thought you should know that as of now you officially do not need to do any exams to work as a lpn/lvn in other provinces if your lvn education was done in canada. Only thing is now in the quebec curriculum they just re-introduced the maternity and pediatrics module. so if you ahve that completed within quebec , all you need to do is just register with the ex: cno in ontario and pay a certain amount fo money along with proof ( transcripts) and your good to go

Where to find lpn course in montreal quebec???
HI Derek, ok so my last post was from december and now that were march 1st, i had just received a letter from the CNO, (canadian nurses order of ontario) 2 weeks ago. Apparently you no longer need to do the exam to work in any other province in canada. If you do the RNA program in Quebec, you are considered now as a LPN/LVN, they are sending memos to hospitals and nursing homes to change the RNA ( registered nursing assistant ) title . EX maimonides, which is a geriatric hospital- nursing home, they sent those memos. so if your interested in the program go for it. Miizzash

Where to find lpn course in montreal quebec???
Hey Im a RNA from Montreal, quebec. There is no specific course titled as lpn or lvn except for the Registered Nursing assistant program that is 2years in length and is offered in vocational schools. You don't even have a final exam, you just do an exam after certain modules. soon in the future they will make a request where students will have to complete a final exam. You may write the prn/lpn exam in other provinces to work.. BUT in terms of transfering credits to other schools in other provinces it wont work !!!! you may got o the oiiaq website and they list all school's in where you can do the course. http://www.oiiaq.org/accueil.fr.html

RNA in Quebec -LPN US equivalencies
hi, im currently a RNA student. i can tell you that i ahve a rna student in my class and she was a lpn from the states, she had to do a few modules,, (sit in class ) and do a few stages, and then u can practice as a rna in quebec. their is actually no exam to practice as a rna in quebec but soon their coming out with one. yes their is a high demand for RNA/LPN/LVN. and at the moment that starting pay is 17.90$/hr. would they take american nurses, of course we need everythign in the healthcare industry so yaa. ohh and a RN makes 24$/hr in quebec but u make 28.30$/hr in ontario and more in other provinces. quebec is kown to pay the least out fo other provinces..and yet we pay the highest taxes.. hope the info help if their anythign else u need to know , dont hesistate to ask.

Athabasca University?
hi, i would LOVE to get some feedback on athabasca. im currently a RNA student in the province of quebec, and im lookin to applying for i think the clpna or alberta college of lpn's since i need to be a liscensed lpn as one fo the requirements of applyign into the lpn-bn program. im abit afraid though because i the RNA registered nursing assistant course in quebec is very diffrent, ppl say its equivalent to a lpn but i dono really. when i looked up lpn courses online i found that they do college/uni lvl courses including anatomy and physiology and we dont have that taught in our program at all. i have to wait a whole yr till i graduate then i can send my transcripts to find out if i need 2 do extra courses. to be a qualified LPN. im woundering are the nursing courses at athabsca difficult or how are the courses in general like?

RNA to LPN
hi, sory for replying so late, but in the province of quebec there r no RNA exams to do, when u graduate, u graduate and thats it!. weve finally added maternity and pediatrics to the curriculum and will shortly be offered at school.soon in the near future RNA's will have to do exams. i keep look'n at the LPN programs offered at other provinces, and what i notice is that everywhere is offering mainly university /college level courses. it kinda scares me because im wanting so badly to go back to school to become a rn when i graduate but i dont want to bother with 3 yrs college and then 2 yrs university jus to be a rn in quebec.. i find so mnay other provinces credit lpn's like athabasca uni. and their through distance ed.. so im realy planning everything around that however i must graduate first then send my credits to CLPNA of alberta. my course is so easy now.. i want to take advantage and get wtv prerequisites i need to be qualified as a lpn in alberta.

RPN/LPN/RNA all the same???
i dissagree to " the commuter" i reside in the province of quebec in canada and here the RNA exist and is not being phased out at all. in fact im actually a RNA student (REGISTERED NURSING ASSISTANT) were registered, were known as professionsal here in quebec and were liscenced. they wont ever take out RNA's from quebec anytime soon since we so desperately need nurses and have such a high shortage.
