  1. Hi and Hello to All! Hope everyone is doing a great lovely day... I just want to share my thoughts and if you could..pls give an advice, enlightenment or something that might help me realize things... I passed my NCLEX-RN year 2009 ( graduated BSN 2007 Philippines). I was able to gain 4 years of experience as a Public Health Nurse in the Philippines plus 1 year of experience as a Nurse Associate (Utilization Management Nurse, reviewing clinical claims disputes 2015 to 2016) where I was able to use my US RN license TX. Fortunately, we got approved as permanent resident here in Canada.. were it may took me of about 2 to 3 years for me to be able to practice nursing here. I tried ielts a few times after 2009 to obtain a visa screen for US but i just cant make my speaking part to reach 7.0. Now that we are here in Canada, (arrived dec 2018) I am now thinking about pursuing my nursing career... My last practice was as a Nurse associate reviewing claims ...year 2016. Whats in my mind is.. if its still possible to be an UM nurse remotely... I just dont know where to start...( just for me to at least be able to gain exp as a nurse and also earn as one... and at the same time i am able to utilize my usrn license from here....) Or Stay here in Canada try to pursue nursing but it may take me years to become a LPN then study to become RN here... I just dont know were to start... do you have any recommendations, suggestions.... and i am also thinking twice because i dont have any hospital experience... and that may last practice was in 2016 in an office reviewing claims... Hoping to hear from the group.. any tips... or share something too... Wishing All the best to all, Marra
  2. hi! go0d day :) regarding Visa screening... Registered Nurses must meet all of the educational requirements as a first level, general (Registered) Nurse, CGFNS/ICHP requires evidence that you have: * successfully completed secondary school education that is separate from your nursing education; * graduated from government-approved, general nursing program of at least two years in length; and * received a minimum number of hours of theoretical instruction and hours of clinical practice in each of the following: * Nursing Care of the Adult (which includes Medical and Surgical Nursing) * Maternal/Infant Nursing (excluding Gynecology) * Nursing Care of Children (Pediatrics) * Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (excluding Neurology) those are their requirements, but what if i already have my CES full education course by course report, do i still need to pass those requirements mentioned above or its already accepted and i can now do the next step? thanks!

  4. "For all of those getting ready to take their nclex, here are some quick and easy prioritization rules to live by. I just passed my nclex-rn last week and wouldn't have done it without following these rules. 1. Acute beats chronic (ex. acute appendicitis beats COPD). 2. Less than 12 hours post-op beats any other med-surg (this is due to the affects of anesthesia). 3. Unstable beats stable (what makes a patient unstable: the word unstable, acute illness, fresh post-op, changed assessments, new admit or diagnosis, experiencing unexpected signs and symptoms or S&S unexpected of disease). 4. Pick the more vital organ. WARNING.- this is only to be used when you have no idea what the answer is. Hope this helped! Good luck to everyone. " - KDNESS these are great tips!!! thanks!! mine is on jan 26!! GOODLUCK to us and May God Bless us all! please include me in your prayers too... thanks thanks...:)
