I'm taking CPAN in April and nervous as heck. I work in a small hospital, no neuro or cardiac so very weak in those areas. I'm really focusing on the certification review book hoping that the questions will be similar in nature and rationales. Any other advice?
  2. I made the cross-country trip 6 years ago with two labs. Go to AAA. They'll map the best route, alerting you to construction detours, etc. They will also give you books for every state you're traveling through that will have hotels listed. I went through them beforehand and marked all the ones on my route that were pet friendly. If you're a member, it's all free. If you're not member, joining is well worth it (approximately $55) prior to setting out. There are long stretches of nothing while traveling and you never know when car problems can occur. The trip was so enjoyable. My only regret is that I didn't allow myself more time for sight-seeing along the way. Safe travels.
  3. Interesting...because this means that hospitals who utilize the practice of recovering a patient in the ICU after hours are not following the standards. Afterall, the second nurse (ICU RN) is not in same room but is within shouting dstance.
