  1. How do you break in to mother-baby

    momzyme posted a topic in Ob/Gyn
    I have been a nurse for 9 years now working with med/surg population. I have tried to transfer to mother/baby. The hospital where I work had 3 positions posted in the mother/baby unit but I was told they were not interested in me because I have no experience in mother/baby. So, how do you get experience if they won't hire you:confused:. Please tell me how you were able to get a job in this area.

    I also want to transfer to mother/baby but I have only med/surg type experience. (9 yrs of that) I have been out of school for a while now and I am afraid I don't remember what I need to for this area. I was wondering if you were given the chance to brush up on your skills where you work.
