  1. Is anyone here familiar with obtaining a RN license with a felony conviction? I was convicted of a non violent felony when I was 19. I'm 22 now and am considering doing nursing but I don't want to waste my time if this type of background will disqualify me. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.
  2. Nvm, thats LPN. hahah but thanks!
  3. Thanks steve, but I've heard from one of my friends who is a physician at columbia say that male nurses are higher because most of the males in the hospitals who are men are doctors and don't want the grunt work. Is this true? And I think you mentioned in one of your previous posts that work in nyc easily starts at 80? I'd be lying if I said im not going into it for just the money but I want something more financially secure as opposed to teaching. I'm also an adrenaline junkie =)
  4. Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone here knew how much a male RN makes and how long you'd have to go to school for it. Is it just two years? Do you have to get your B.A? And how long does it take it make 6 figures? thanks again!
  5. Hey everyone I've been stalking this forum for a while searching for a thread on male nursing. I found one https://allnurses.com/forums/f213/male-nursing-salaries-211374-2.html but it didn't answer everything I wanted to know, so here goes! Okay so im currently in college right now. Queensborough Community College to be exact, and although I look down upon community colleges, I've heard very good things about the program there. I've done plenty of research recently and discovered that not only is the demand for nurses really high but male nurses as well. Being that I am a current business major I was wondering if there were any male nurses here who can share what they enjoy (and of course what they don't) about their job? long hours? is it true that you get burnt out from the patients etc? how is the pay starting for an RN? how long and what does it take to make six figures? Sorry if I come off a little superficial regarding money. lol, I've heard that the pay is good but I just want to be sure that I can financially support people in my life when needed. Oh and another question, can you be a nurse with a non violent felony conviction? :uhoh21: Like say... possession of a stolen credit card at age 20? Please don't judge me.. Anyhow, I want to thank all of you for your help on these topics and stay healthy! :nuke:
