Oh no... I am a guy who paired up with a girl.. the only thing we did was wear running shorts and a t-shirt so we could hear the lung/heart sounds and perform a complete assessment. There is no need for you to be nude at all.

All I can say is that it took me FOREVER to get my Florida license just coming from Pennsylvania. Just keep calling them and work your way up the chain until you get someone that you can help you individually. I had to keep complaining till I got someone by name who was helpful enough.

I work on a Pulmonary PCU currently as an Assistant Nurse Manager. We went from having a 5:1 ratio with nursing assistants, to a 3:1 ratio without assistance. I made an excel spreadsheet with eacho room number on it and various categories across the top (line draw, o2, complete patient, on CWA protocol, etc..). Each patient is then given a number and the patients are evened out between the nurses on that shift. Some times this causes a problem where the staff wants ALL of their patients back, but due to the acuity levels we are asking them to work with us on this. It really seems to work, and when someone says that "its not fair", or "how come they only have..." we can point to the acuity system and use is as back-up. The acuity system must be made for each specific unit as we are still tweaking it from time to time.

I am a nurse who works for UPMC in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania at the present time. I have almost 3 years of experience at the bedside as an RN in a thoracic ICU and PACU. I am 24 years old and am moving down to Orlando and am having a difficult time finding jobs. I have two masters degrees (MSN-administration, and a MBA) at the present time. I have also teaching experience at a community college and also at the University level. I have no management experience, but am basically looking for a job that would compensate me for the time and money I have spent on my education, and by educating others. Would agency nursing be a good choice for now? Are there other options throughout the city or places that may give me an assistant UD/Charge position? I am discouraged because I have spent 5 years so far working my way up within my organization, and would rather not start the whole way back at the bottom of the ladder. I do not at ALL want to jump right to the top, but at least a few rungs up from the bottom would be optimal. I also would not mind working and teaching at a school of nursing in the Orlando area as adjunct faculty if a position comes up. I am not moving to florida to "travel", but as an actual life move. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks drew
