  1. As of July 1st our department is no longer keeping fetal monitor strips as part of medical records. We do have a QS system that record strips but as you know everything looks different on paper then a computer. Just wanted some opinions on this new practice...
  2. :chuckleI had a father of a baby who was very concerned about how his unborn child was going to breath after the membranes were ruptured....he said " well like when a fish is out of water they can't breath"...I couldn't help but giggle and ask him where his baby's gills were located...

I'm trying to come up with a t-shirt that has a list of "you know you're an ob nurse when...." "you know you're an ob nurse if..." etc. I have nothing right now so any ideas would help!
  6. In our department we have to take 40 hours of call in a 6 week time period. You get to choose the two shifts that you would want to do call. It's rough.
  7. I have a question and am just wondering tips on what to do in this situation. My last c/s I circulated was on a woman who made it to fully dilated, pushed for a half hour and I called the physician because there was so much caput and the baby was not moving anywhere. The baby was wedged inthe pelvis he aked me to "go down below" and push the baby up....any tips on how to successfully and safely help with this? It worked but was a little scary.
