i was just reading through my old posts and have an answer to my own question...an LPN can draw from a PICC IF their company policy allows it. The current facility I am with does allow it, ofcourse you have to have your IV certification and be evaluated by a supervisor.
  2. i am an lpn currently working as a unit manager for a 30 bed unit in a rehab facility, doing aprox 100 turnover each month. i am relocating to the rochester, livingston county area this summer and want to stay in the ltc setting. does anyone have any suggestions? also what is the pay rate for lpn's in ltc? i have had my license for 5+ years, with the last 2 years in management and am currently working on my pre-reqs for my rn. thanks!!:rcgtku:
  3. Anyone know if LPNs can draw blood from PICC lines in FL? I can't find the scope of practice on the board website. Thanks!!
  4. Hi everyone...this is my first time on this site so please be gentle!!! I have a patient who has a Stage 2-3 (depending on the day) that we can't get healed...we have tried all our "protocol" products and nothing is working. We can't keep her off of it, won't stay in bed long enough to relieve any pressure...Any and all suggestions would be great!!!!
