  1. Yes, it feels like crunch time here. On Rob's website there are documents that you can download as well (mneumonics for AOC, labs). It seems like he's added several things, an E-book that goes along with the videos, however, I didn't have success with that either, you have to have a Username/password for that as well. Does anyone have his cell phone number? Just kidding, really. It's 2:30am and I've been doing lab stations for the last 12 hours. I'm going to sleep and surely, this will all be the 1st thing on my mind when my eyes open in the morning. I have 5 more weeks of feeling this way. Thanks, Angela.
  2. Hi, Is there anyone having problems with Rob's downloads? I bought the lab sim video back in May but did not receive the mneumonics with it and thought that it was a part of the $40. Also, in June, bought the AOC video but had problems downloading that, had emergency surgery a couple of days later, mother-in-law diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (it's been a hell of a summer) and now can't access the username/password for the AOC video so I sent Rob an e-mail last week letting him know that it's been a couple of months, could I please have another username/password. I saw on his website that some people were having problems, etc., SO, I went ahead and just paid another $40 to "start all over" but to no avail....Two days ago, I rec'd a refund from Paypal (there was a note from Rob saying "Angela already has this download." I sent two personal e-mails asking him for a response but have not heard a thing. I'm frustrated now and think maybe I should just look on e-bay or something to see if anyone is selling his DVD(I should have done that in the 1st place, but I wanted the paperwork/documents that came with his videos). Anyone familiar with all this? Thanks, Angela ( I'm testing Oct 9th-11th @ Grady)
  3. Hi everyone, I sent my last post back in May letting everyone know that I was CPNE ELIGIBLE, and boy did that feel good. App was in and accepted as of May 6th to SPAC, so now I'm just waiting. I was scheduled for next Wed. 25th-27th @ Sheri's Cpneworkshop in Atlanta. Iv'e been studying mostly Ethics and sorting through the CE's. I was hoping to take Ethics and Religion to get them out of the way before CPNE madness. Well......I went today with my mother-in-law to a general surgeon for a "mass" found near her PANCREAS on a recent CT. She had been c/o epigastric pain x3weeks now. My husband is an only child, his mother lives alone, widowed (his Dad died 10 years ago), she's only 58, a bank manager, stressed constantly, overweight and eats a high fat diet. There you go, pancreatic cancer. Soooo, I have no interest in anything NURSING. I know we're in shock and maybe I'll get up off the pavement and keep studying but now it's all different. My husband has been the one keeping me going, tolerating my long work hours, typical hospital stuff complaints, venting etc. And now what? The enormity of what I went through today, the Dr. saying to her (his compassion was profound) " your cancer is inoperable" his hands were shaking, his eye contact difficult. (ca-19 was 3700, the normal reading is
  4. It's Nursing School. You are already a nurse and know the basics. I really enjoyed most nursing concepts in the old curriculum and I'm sure the new curriculum is the same but broken down differently. I started taking my exams in November and was determined to finish. Scheduling the exam was actually what motivated me to study, but that is what worked for me!! In 5 months I took 7 exams, two were pre-req's. You can do it. Best of luck and just start studying. Here I am now waiting for my CPNE date!! You'll be there too.
  5. Congrats on your decision to move forward with Excelsior. Remember, for every exam that you pass, you're one step closer to finishing. Really. I enrolled in 2006 and DID NOT start taking exams until 2008. When I think of all the wasted time, student service fees, etc., I get sick. However, each time I passed an ECE exam, I would pay for and schedule another. It took me 5 months to do 8 exams. Just like Lunah, and many other wonderful RN's on this forum, I recommend you pay for and take the ECE practice exams. It's a great tool for information and requirements for all exams. Finishing and becoming an RN through this program seems so distant, yet it's not. I still have CPNE and boards to accomplish, however, without this forum, I don't think I would be as far along as I am.
  6. Hello to everyone!! I have never posted on this wonderful site and I have no idea why. For the last TWO years, I have quietly and oftentimes enviously read each and every inspiring story and right now, I feel like I want to personally hug Lunah, seusquatch and many others. I Did not start taking my classes until November 08 and have taken 8 exams in 5 months!!! My last exam was ECE A&P, which I thought I would fail and made an A. I only gave myself two weeks to study. Thanks to A&P Made Incredibly Easy, Studygroup 101 and of course, EC practice exams. I hope that anyone else who reads this and is struggling with the idea that all of this seems so distant and unattainable, it isn't. I received my letter in the mail today stating "CPNE ELIGIBLE." WOW. I'm 42, spent most of my adult life a single mom, surgical tech, then an LPN and all along working with people that are "23" BSN grads and at the LTAC where I work, I'd have to wait for THEM to come and push drugs for me, or hang blood, etc. That too, inspired me to move forward. I know I have alot to prepare for, but reading notes from Lunah, etc., gives me hope. Thanks again to all of you.
