Practicum in PACU, women's hospital
I received my practicum assignment and it's in a women's hospital in their PACU. I am NOT happy with this assignment at all. I have no desire to ever work in surgery or women's medicine. Have any of you done a rotation in a women's hospital PACU? How was it? Did you do anything besides vital signs, pain monitoring, incision monitoring for bleeding?

Abolishing the Pinning Ceremony
I know I'm chiming in long after the thread was posted, however, I was just informed that my school will no longer be holding pinning ceremonies, starting next year. They are converting our gymnasium into a wellness/fitness center. They contracted with the local university to use their arena for the graduations ceremonies but not for pinning ceremonies. We were led to believe when we started our program (an accelerated 1 year LPN to RN) program that we would be pinned next June (2013) but now they've changes their minds. They are expecting us to walk in the graduation ceremony in May wearing a cap and gown and our pin on that, then go back to school the next week for our summer semester/Practicum, and then finish out June 20, at which time we will get our actual signed degree. At the graduation ceremony, we get a blank document.

Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2012
I am applying to bridge in to finish my RN. I am currently working as an LPN. I don't know what my GPA is yet since they need to configure it once my transcripts get to the school. My A&P I grade was an A, and my TEAS V score was 85.3%. I'm really hoping to get accepted, but once I do I have to wait until my "class" gets to the second year, then I'll join in to finish the last two semesters with them.

Transferring to CT, and want to finish nursing degree at CTCC.
Hi, My husband I and are planning on relocating to Connecticut to be close to his family. I am currently trying to get into an LPN-RN bridge program here in Orlando, but it's difficult since there is only 1 school within an hour of where I live. I have been researching the program there and am a bit confused on a few things. From what I have read it looks like the classes they use to determine your GPA are classes taken in the last 5 years and classes that are co-requesites for the nursing program, is this correct? If you have already gone to LPN school do they use the grades from the program as well? I have already taken A&P I & II, Microbiology, English I & II, Sociology, Dev. Psych, Gen. Psych, Humanities. My A&P classes are about 15 years old and I am planning on retaking them this summer and fall so that they fall within the 5 year requirement. I took the TEAS and got a fair score (86). I also have my LPN license and am IV certified. I know that if do get accepted that I will join my cohort during their 3rd semester. Do you already have to have taken A&P II before sending in your application? I am also going to take Chemistry in the Fall since I have not taken it as of yet. I would like to be able to take it alone, but will take it along with A&P II if I have too Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RN Transition Program cancelled due to poor enrollment numbers.....
I will most likely be applying to Valencia's transition program. I'm not feeling to positive that I'll get in though. They only take 24 people each term and the lowest GPA they've taken the last 2 terms was 3.54. If my GPA were that high I would have just gone to a generic RN program.

RN Transition Program cancelled due to poor enrollment numbers.....
I am so upset. The college I was scheduled to begin my transition program at cancelled the program for this summer because the enrollment numbers were too low. I attend Seminole State College (SSC) and now I have to find another school to go to. I don't understand how they did not have enough applicants? What school are you going through?? I need it to be in the Orlando area...

Who's taken the teas v?
I took it last month (Dec 2010) and did not really prepare for it. I did on every section but the science and it was HARD. My school requires a minimum of 73 to get into the RN program and I got a 72.7 overall. I am talking it again in 2 weeks. I bought the ATI TEAS V study guide and have been reading it every night to prepare. I really hope to get a mid to high 80's score the next time.

Microbiology - Fall 2008
Well, Our class got our exam results last night for our first lecture exam. They were not good. Out of 19 students (down from 24 the first week), there were 3 B's, 3 C's, 5 D's and 8 F's. I am very thankful that I got an 84(B) since, most of the class scored 45-65. I am pretty sure that when we have class next week that there will be even fewer students, since several said they were withdrawing from the course.

Microbiology - Fall 2008
I would love to join the study group. My class starts 8/25 as well. I am also an older student (36) and I have a 4 year old and a 20 month old. This class makes me nervous!!! I am taking it at Seminole Community College!
