  1. If the answer is yes, can you please provide more details? I am just curious. I am about to finally start attending a nursing program, after all these years of doing pre-requisites, but I am also on the waiting list for Radiography, so I've been wondering whether I can do both. Your input is appreciated.
  2. Thank you very much, everybody who replied to my message. Now thinking back, I realized that this nurse is an LPN, while I was shooting for an RN, and that could be one of the reasons. Yes, I thought this was a bunch of hot air, but decided to ask around. I just phoned my floor manager, who said she hasn't heard about it, either. I do appreciate your support. I will continue with my studies. Oh I hope I will survive the Intermediate Algebra and Chemistry, too.
  3. :confused:I have a question. I am currently an STNA on a hospital floor, and am working on my nursing pre-requisites. Today, a nurse approaches me, and eyeing my full bookbag, says that I wouldn't be able to get a nursing license because I am over 55. Well, slightly over, but still. She said this with a completely straight face, and insisted that she was not joking. I wonder if this is true. I doubt it, but who knows. I know a few nurses who graduated after 55, and that was years ago. But she insisted that this was true, and added that because of nurses' shortage, I might get licensed even though I am 57 now, so when I graduate, I'll be closer to 60. So... what do you think? Have you ever heard of this? All answers are greatly appreciated. Thank you all and have a nice day. Anna
  4. In my homework, I have the following question. Explain what will happen if the epidermis blocked all UV radiation from reaching the blood vessels in the dermis? Of course, I am aware of the harmful and beneficial effects of UV rays on the skin, but what that has to do with the dermal blood vessels? Please help. It's due on Monday. Thanks.
