Bathing Classmates and Other Personal Boundaries?
I think your instructor will understand the modesty part, but ask her privately if other arrangements can be made ahead of time.......don't make a big deal of it and I imagine they will be more than accomadating. Good luck! PS. It's really not that bad!

how many classmates dropped in your first semester?
My class had 20 to start, 1 never made it to orientation, 1 where her father was very sick (he was the primary caregiver when she was working/school) 1 just a few weeks ago, 1 is in serious danger of failing. We are adding an LPN to the group after January, so 17 left-16 of the original 20. I am in an EVE/WE program where they only choose people who have done all prerequisites prior to being accepted. Only 20 slots.

Unreasonable family members in the nursing home?
Those people are the ones I hope end up being in a nursing home. I worked as a CNA for over 18 years and dealt with that kind of family all the time. I imagine it comes from the guilt of having mom or pop in a home to begin with, or maybe 'cause mom & pop's $$ is being spent instead of son/daughter getting it after they die! I'll never forget the day that a family member came up and asked why mom had to wait to be brought to the dining room for lunch, he was kind of ****** off that meanwhile a coworker was in cardiac arrest! He had the gall to say "Well, that was great timing!"

I wish I had studied this before Nursing 101.......
I will be starting school in the fall & want to plan ahead, so what do you wish you had studied a little more before you started Nursing 101? I am an older student, out of school for a while & have not taken any math courses since 1992. I am brushing up on some simple algebra & math calculations, fractions & such. I have heard from some nursing students in my pre-req classes that the math was killing them, there were some recent high school grads in the mix, so I am a little nervous. Can you list here some things you wish you had known before taking your first nursing courses? Thanks in advance!

Any Hints for Microbiology "Unknown"?
Thanks a lot for the websites, they are very helpful! As for this, we only have lab 1 day a week, we only have 3 weeks to do it. We have to streak plate, and do all the other tests that have to be incubated, tonight-it's a 3 hour lab. Next week we have to have it narrowed down, so we can finish the next week. We don't have flow charts, we only have a computer program, to use when narrowed down to 2 organisms, it will say if we did the right tests. As for our instructor, he's pretty good so I am asuming he will guide us a little, but there are 25 in the class. Wish me luck.

Any Hints for Microbiology "Unknown"?
We are starting our "unknown" lab this week and we each will get 2 types of bacteria that we need to identify on our own. I plan on doing a gram stain for each, then do streak plates w/selective media. Does anyone have any hints? I did find a website that you can put info into it and it will narrow it down, but if anyone has a site that could help? Thanks in advance for your help! Eileen

Statistics prerequisite
I am taking Stats as my "easy A" class this semester. It really is not hard, as long as you can do simple math and use a calculator. Most formulas can be written down for tests, my proffessor just wants to see if we can get the placement of the data correctly. Go for it, you may like it!
