I also chose not to buy the book package. And I am doing fine in all of my classes. I agree that the only time I wished I had it was when I need to copy and paste stuff when we split objectives for the group. It saves me time. But otherwise, I am totally fine without it. I went with the medcap loan w/ Wells Fargo. After talking with people a lot of them did so also. I heard negative things from other students that chose to do Sallie Mae. They had a hard time, and some of them still don't have their financial aid money yet. Wells Fargo was very fast. I was approved that day. The only set back was waiting on OU to approve it and disperse the funds.

for the lab bag i think i paid $105? for the scrubs, i bought 2 sets,, plus the community shirt, patches, lab coat and spent between $100-150 the book package was over $1000? maybe between 1200-1400? i can't remember, but i know it was over 1000. (i didn't buy the book package, i spent about 500-600 on half.com) from what i remember that's all i spent that day

CONGRATS EVERYONE! I started in June! And be sure to enjoy your next month of freedom! On our orientation day, we had to pay for a lab bag, and they give you an option of buying a book package which includes the electronic version of the book (and that is the only day you can buy it) I chose to purchase my books all through half.com. And also uniforms will be available for purchase. Prices may have changed so I won't give you any amounts. Basically they just talk about getting everything done, immunizations, drugs tests, background checks, all that fun stuff in very little time to do it in! My friend is in Group 7, she said they changed it to 7am-330. We rcvd another updated schedule ystrdy.

What clinical group is everyone in? I am in Group 9, it has been moved to Thursdays 3-1130 w/ still no clinical instructor. Can you believe we start in 4 days!?

Has anyone tried to login to Angel yet? If so is the username and password going to be the same as the ou email?

How do you know it disperses in August?

For those of you who haven't seen the email from Phyllis yet: Dear students: For those of you who ordered the book package, the correct books are here and will be available for pick up next week. We will notify you of the days and times in a follow up email. If you have not done so already, please be sure to order the three additional required books including the Nursing Drug Handbook, APA Rules and Disability book. I regret that many of you, who have ordered books already, have probably purchased some incorrect books based on erroneous information we gave you at Open House. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and recognize that this is causing you anxiety and additional expense. In order to alleviate some of the expense you may incur, the University of Oklahoma is willing to pay your additional shipping costs for returning incorrect books. Please note that not all of the books will need to be exchanged. Please refer to the updated list I have attached or the list posted to the website when exchanging your books. If you have any questions, please email them to me directly. If you have shipping costs for reimbursement, you will need to produce an itemized receipt to my attention at the San Diego address. Please be sure that your name and contact information is included. I will process those refunds as quickly as possible.

Question: Did you do yours online or on the phone for both your stafford and alternative loans?

Has anyone tried to fill out the Stafford Loan thru Wells Fargo? I didn't see our school on the list of schools, and when I called they said that our schol wasn't eligible for Stafford Loans until after July 1st??? And did you guys do the entrance exam for the loans?

I wonder if they will allow me to exchange my scrubs pants to a different size. i guess trying it on with my jeans that one day altered the way it really fit! haha so i need a smaller size! Do you have their address? phone number? where in downtown are they located?

So i filled out the medcap application and it says I was pre-approved. i spoke to rep and thank god i do not need a cosigner! did you send your Promissory Note electronically or did you print it out and mail it? i wonder how long it would take to get the disbursement from the school?

I was looking at that. Did you apply for the Wells Fargo MedCap Loan? That seemed like the most reasonable one out of the rest. Will you have someone cosign you? I will have to do more research and hope I get approved!!! Thanks!

The Disclosure form you would fax to American Data Bank. From my understanding we don't give anything to the school. American Data Bank will submit everything to Sharp. That's what I did. I faxed it to ADB, and they emailed me saying " Thank you for using American Databank's background check service for the healthcare program at your school. We have received your disclosure and release form for the background check. Your background check will be completed as quickly as possible and the results will be sent to authorized personnel at your school. Thank you! I haven't received mine in the mail yet, but I logged into the self service link on the financial aid site and it was on there. I too have Alternative Loan.. no idea what that means. Does the letter explain anything in detail?

Im not sure what they are going to do because I am sure the professors already have a curriculum set up based on that booklist online. The one book that I'm pretty sure we are going to have to get is the Ackley Nursing Diagnosis book. I heard from my nursing friends that it is a must for their clinicals and when doing their care plans. I was surprised not to see it on the list they gave us on the 1st day. But I got it anyway for my own benefit. (Its also on the booklist for people who bought the electronic books) I wonder how that is going to work.. it is obvious that the people who bought the electronic books will get the books from the booklist online. Because it included the Nursing Diagnosis, and Maternal Nursing which wasn't on our list. =/ So frustrating.

did you guys see this email: great after i already purchased 2 of the books in hopes that i can get it in time. eeesh. dear students: please hold off on making any book purchases, either initial or re-ordering, until i get back to you. we are working on a solution that will be the best for everyone regarding the issues with our inconsistent booklists. i sincerely apologize for this confusion and will email you with an update as soon as possible.

You know what I found interesting was the books on the Textbook Package that they sold on the first day... has all the books on this "new list."

i am seriously ******... i already spent the money to buy these books that are no longer on this list. wth!!! and now there are additional books that are needed! ugrghhhhhhhh!!!! i don't understand how they are just telling us this now???

GREAT! After we already ordered/received the book they tell us this now. I wonder if there is a big difference between the two editions?

I have clinicals Fridays 300-1130. im so glad we got that cleared outta the way. now I just need my financial aid letter!!! anyone else receive theres? did anyone talk to kennessa about it? its seriously stressing me out!! haha! by the way the patches are so ugly! and yes i did buy 2 sets of scrubs. i bought a set for 20 bucks, dickies brand, i bought at the san ysidro outlet Also allheart.com sells cheap sets for about the same price

I called the financial aid office just now, and they said that I am in their system, and that I should receive it any day soon? Hopefullly, within the next few days. Wow 64K seems like a lot? Is that for the entire program? Or for a semester? See you all today!

Geez I still haven't gotten mine yet. May I ask how much they are offering? Yeah I think I have everything. Ill need to get it all organized.
