Thank you all for your replies. I just came home from my second interview and the job is mine if I want it after shadowing a visit with another LPN. It sounds like a very intense yet thorough orientation for a couple of months. It was described as everything I hoped it to be. Wounds, injections, education, lung/heart sounds, vitals, caths and trachs, no pediatrics. I am very excited! The most difficult task will be telling my present employer I will be leaving, I have been with them for 3 yrs and love the people I work with but I really miss doing practical skills and will better myself with this job not to mention it can only help with my RN schooling.

Hi, I would like to know about a typical day for an LPN doing home health care. The company I have an interview with is unionized, pays per hour, mileage and full benefits, they said I would see about 5 patients per day in a 7.5 shift. I am unfamiliar as to what an LPN does in home care except for med packs, dressing changes, DM education. Can anyone help me out?
  3. Thanks Lunah, I needed direction.
  4. Any suggestions for NC 4? I'm feeling very overwhelmed with this one. I usually take the EC practice tests when I feel ready for the actual test, wondering if anyone has taken the EC practice just to find out their weak points. I use Chancellors study guides and they have been good for me so far but I just don't know how detailed to get with this one.
