  1. Thanks for the information. Are you located in Canada? Also where is the class located and how do you go about signing up for it in order to get the prerequisite information to study? I am reviewing all lmy options as far as how comprehensive the classes are and how easy the location is for me to get to. Any info you might be able to give is appreciated! Thanks
  2. I am an operating room nurse who wants desparately to do something different! Even I do this 2 days a week and keep my other job it would give me a break sway from what I am doing I thought of this because my 92 yr old mother is in assisted and they really have no one to do foot care and maintainence. The podiatrist that comes to her place cut her 5th to the last time and she was in pain for weeks! This is a service that is not readily available in my opinion. Does any one know of a good class in order to get certified after some practical experience. I found one in St John New Brunswick Canada (Foot Care Management) it has 3 days of classroom and 2 days of clinincal it seems pretty comprehensive. Did you dind it easy to get a business started? Was it expensive to get equipment and supplies? Anyone know of any classes in U.S that are good? Seems like Canada might be up on us in the # of classes they have and the importance they place in this service but I'm not sure I may not have the whole picture. Any info is appreciated!!
  3. Thanks Kelly I am looking for a course on foot and nail care that is fairly comprehensive in order to take the certification exam in the US. I realize that you are not supposed to recommend a particular one but I think if you pm me you might be able to make some suggestions (not viewed by the general population) is that correct? well anyway any insight you might have would be appreciated. I think the programs in Canada seem to be more in depth and have some good clinical attached to them. I live in Nashville Tn so I would have to travel a distance so I want to make sure the program is good before I put out the time travel and money. Thanks so much!
  4. Hello everyone, I have been avidly reading the comments made regarding a career in foot and nail care. I am an R.N. who has been in this "business" for 30plus years with the bulk of my experience in the perioperative area. I work in an outpatient surgery center. I am really looking for a different direction to my career and I am interested to learn more about this area of expertise. I would like to have Anne Nelsons e-mail address if anyone has it so I can find out about classes in Canada. It sounds like they have a pretty extensive program with a good clinical experience. If anyone knows of any other programs I would be very interested in any information you can impart. Ive noticed some really hard working, smart and savvy entrepreneur-nurses on this site and I'm anxious to learn more!
