Are you allowed to wear your rings
We are still wearing rings and watches, but we may end up losing them along with nails. Personally, I can't stand to be wet under my rings or watch, so i dry very thoroughly. Don't see how anything can grow there. And I have only the one watch I wear to work, I don't wear it anywhere else, so little chance of picking up anything else.

"cpap Head"
We use 1% lidocaine and only use is QID. and that's only when there's breakdown. I like to eye ointment idea though, the boogies is one of the biggest problems, (in addition to the Kindergarten Alien thing):chuckle

Let's talk about acrylic nails ...
WOW!! what a controversy!!!I have the same nail problem,, crummy, cracked, weak nails. I've worn acylics for five years and can't imagine losing them. but YEP, we recently saw the CDC guidelines too. I don't know when our facility will be enforcing it, but I know several of us are not thrilled. but like someone said, so says the CDC, so goes the rules....

"cpap Head"
Kristi, ROFL! I love that visual!!! Hi, I'm new here. I was surfing today and found this site. It's nice to have a place to connect directly with others and hash out our concerns! and to share ideas. Heather, that's a great idea with the bili mask! I'll have to suggest that in our NICU. the only thing we do for the irritation is treatment rather than prevention. we are using polysporin with lidocaine to help for extended periods on cpap. thanks for a wonderful forum for discussion Jenn
