  1. Hi! I'm not sure if you still need comments on this topic for class. I am an adjunct faculty at a university nursing school. It is important to integrate a variety of teaching methods. Technology, such as Blackboard, can provide a medium for student discussions. This medium can allow a traditionally "quiet" student to "speak up" and feel more comfortable. I find that taking the extra few minutes to "walk" students through some of the basics of the technology that you plan to you use, minimizes the fear of computers. I teach how to look for a valid website with valid information. I caution students about citing from blogs, as it may not be evidenced based information/data. It is important for students to learn how to navigate and understand reliable research and information.
