Nursing Care Plan for Medical Diagnosis of Syncope
You really have me boiling. I hope I figure out who you are in my class, so I can dismiss you as the nurse making my careplan and giving me meds in the future. You really need to take a step back and reevaluate your attitude and send some apologies. I always think everyone has a bad day and deserves a second chance. I hope you take the opportunity to do so. Good luck to you.

Nursing Care Plan for Medical Diagnosis of Syncope
Serenity, I am appauled at your lack of gratitude of Daytonite's help. This person has 32 years of experience. They pointed out to you that you can't even differentiate the difference between a "Risk for" diagnosis and when a patient actually has a problem. Forget getting into any further more complex Dx. You need to figure that one out first. I'm in your class and working on the same case study. I don't know who you are, but I hope I never have to work with you. You are the perfect example of all the nasty nurses out there. I hear McDonald's is hiring. Gruffy

Advice on Recruiter's advice
Thank you both for great info. I remember when I went in as enlisted and I wanted MP in Hawaii. I told the recruiter that at MEPS and he said, "We just had 4 slots next January for that, but they filled. Would like to go armor?" I said no thank you, call me when you have MP in Hawaii and left. Two weeks later I got a call that there was an opening. I thought it odd that it was for January. I signed. It's not that I believe the recruiters lie, but it's what they don't tell you that is available. Thanks again for the great advice. G.

Advice on Recruiter's advice
Hello everyone, I just talked with a Army nurse recruiter and was hoping for some advice on his advice. To put it into perspective, a little about my situation first: Male, 47, graduating with ADN on May 1st, 2009. I have 7 years prior enlisted service in the Army. Goal: CRNA and retire AD. His recommendation was for me to go Reserves and start the app process NOW d/t my age (only prior commissioned time counts for the age factor) After I finish my BSN then it would be easier to go active. He also said I have a choice of 2 of 3 incentives: 1. Monetary ($30k dispersed over 3 years) 2. LRP (up to $50k payable after I finish BSN) 3. STRAP ($1900.00/mo. Stipend while going to school) He recommended 2 and 3. He stated that I would be commissioned, but would not go to drill during school. Any thoughts would be most appreciated! Thanks, Gruffy

Online Banking/cell phones etc...in Iraq?
Salute to everyone! I will graduate with my ADN on May 1st and I am a 47 y.o. male with 7 years prior service in the Army. I have been reading most of the posts on the forum and I have learned very much. Thanks for all the info. By what ever path I follow, I plan on getting a direct commission in the Army. I have been told that at somepoint I will end up in Iraq/Afgan/Kuwait. My questions are: Can you access the internet for online banking and paying bills? Can you bring your own laptop? Can you use a personal cell phone? I also saw a thread about uniforms during commissioning. Do we have to buy our ownd uniforms now? Don't they give an initial issue to direct commissions? Thanks in advance, Gruffy

Roll Call for all Military and VA Nurses and those considering the Service
Salute to everyone! I will graduate with my ADN on May 1st and I am a 47 y.o. male with 7 years prior service in the Army. I have been reading most of the posts on the forum and I have learned very much. Thanks for all the info. My goal is to eventually be a CRNA. That being said, my concern is what are the do's and don'ts of the process. I understand that I can go AR with an ADN, but I also heard that if I am in my junior year of BSN I can get AD and if so, will the Army pay for it. Is it better to go in as a green ADN nurse (AR), or get a couple years exp and my BSN/MSN and go AD? Any advantages/disadvantages either way? Thanks in advance for all your help! Gruffy
