  1. Hi! I just have some questions about what to do when you have an open chest patient with delayed sternal closure...If the pt should arrest can you perform chest compression on them or is it by internal defib. only? Also for a pt who has an RVAD and an LVAD if they arrest would you do chest compression if you needed to?
  2. When a pt has an open chest there is always bubbling in thier chest tubes, at the time the pt chest is open b/c they were unable to close the pt chest in surgery due to different circumstances. I just want to know what causes the bubbling if anyone knows! Thanks
  3. Hi, I am new to the Surgical Intensive Care unit. In a pt with an open chest what causes the constant bubbling in the medistinal chest tubes? What are complication I should look for in pt with an open chest? Thanks for your help
  4. I took the nclex today...i had so much anxiety...i tired to calm myself down but i just didn't know what to expect. I had about 120 questions and it shut off....i had some select all that apply throughout the questions...i would have like 10-15 questions then 1-2 select all that apply....i probally got about 10-15 all together...what do you think my odds are of passing? and have you heard of people passing or failing with this number?? i feel like i really failed HELP
  5. I graduated in May and I am pretty nervous about the NCLEX. I took Kaplan and at the end exam it said I would pass...they said when you do question you want to try and get 60% of the question right....so I have been keeping score and I have been getting in the 40 and sometimes 70 but I am not consistent...I have my schedule laid out that I will have done about 5,000 question when I take it which is what I heard you should do. Does anyone have any advice for me? What I can do to improve my score? I have also been reviewing some content each night I have trouble with? HELP please I am so nervous. I just graduated with my ASN I am working full time, going to school full time, studying for boards, and trying to manage time to have some fun too SO i am SUPER stressed...any advice to of how to build my confidence b/c i get upset every time I get less then 60% b/c I want to pass the first time...thanks for you advice :)
  6. I am currently enrolled in KAPLAN...but as we go over question I have forgotten some of the topics covered in my two years...I was in an accelerated program and everything moved so fast. I got A's and B's in school...but I want a content review course for the NCLEX...I dont want to read through a book by myself....Does anybody know of one?? I want one that goes over it with you in a classroom...or maybe even a tutor! PLEASE help me i plan on taking the NCLEX in June and I want to pass the first time : )
