I plan on applying to a community college ASN program for fall 2008. I currently attend a 4 year college in pre-nursing, but have had a few problems the past couple of semesters in non related pre nursing classes and have decided I have a better chance apllying for an ASN then BSN. The school I am applying to requires a minimum of a 2.0 on all college coursework and a 19 on the ACT or 40 on the pre nursing exam. Pre reqs are not required because the way they do it your Semester I can be the EN 101, MATH 112, AP 1, and General Psych or you can already have those completed and start your Nursing classes. Well I have taken EN 101 & 102 both with As, BIOL 1020 A, Microbiology with a B, General Psych & Developmental Psych with Bs, Math 100 & 112 with As, Genetics with a C, and Intro to Inorganic Chemistry with an A, and Intro to Organic Chemistry with an A. I have a 21 on my ACT but am thinking about taking the pre nursing entrance exam just for back up assurance. And I am currently re taking AP 1 and should get a B if not an A at the 4 year college. The only down fall is that even though my science grades are good and I have more than needed to even complete the program and all of my Semester I classes are completed, my overall college course GPA is only a 2.6 because of some problems I ran into taking some college psych classes and getting diagnosed with anxiety disorder and withdrawing from classes last fall. So I am fully aware I will probably get rejected for at least a semester, but I was wondering what other people thought of my situation or if something similiar has happened to anyone else. Does anyone think I stand a chance.. I know they accept around 70 people in the fall. Any feedback or encouragement to keep trying would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am currently a student at Auburn University and am wanting to apply for Southern Union's nursing program for Fall 2008. I am not exactly sure how the whole point thing works and plan on visiting an advisor, however can not do this till after spring break, so I was hoping for a little clarification on here simply because I have bad an anxiety and am so afraid I am never going to get into a program. I have taken EN 101, EN 102, CHEM 104 & 105, BIOL 102, Microbiology, Genetics, MATH 100 & 110, an ethics course, a nutrition class, a statistics course, and am currently enrolled in AP 1. I was wondering exactly what classes they would use for my point system. Obviously Micro, but will they use the AP 1 since I am in it now and what would they use for AP 2? Also any info on taking the COMPASS and what that is all about would be great cause I'm pretty sure my ACT score is over 3 years old. I was also wondering out of 200 what the average points acceptance has been for the past couple of semesters, how many spots there are, and how often you actually get a spot if you are waitlisted. I know it sounds like I should be applying to the BSN at Auburn, but I missed the deadline and I am not really wanting to take AP 2 on Auburn's campus. I really just wanna get my RN and get myself out there. I'm also thinking about applying to Troy in Montgomery, so any information or advice on that would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!!
