  1. Yes. Thank you. Yes. I'm striving for the honor to be called a "nurse", and to hopefully be as good at it as my wife. It is an honorable and noble title. I hope I will be worthy to share it with my male and female colleagues-to-be. In other words: Get over it or move on.
  2. Just passed my CNA written and practical exams tonight! I'm 54 and an alumnus of two previous higher profile professions. I couldn't be more jazzed about what I'm doing, and am as pumped now as I was when I passed one of my bar exams. Had a meeting last week with an "advisor" at my preferred nursing college. I'll be doing pre-reqs for awhile but still plan on applying to nursing school in February. Anyway, this advisor had nothing to offer except the myriad reasons why I will not make it. I said [something similar to "screw that" but more tasteful] and told her that I don't really care what her percentages say--I'm going to nursing school, and I'm going next year. She got kind of quiet after that.
  3. Try law for personality disorders . . .
  4. Just got here and was thinking I must be the only old guy wanting to do this. Thanks to everyone here for making me feel like I will belong. (haven't even begun yet--starting CNA training in three weeks and then cleaning up pre-reqs before applying for real).
