  1. Where are some peoples thought processes? A 27 yr old female was brought in via EMS b/c she cut her labia off b/c her boyfriend he was breaking up with her cause it was too big.
  2. A 56 year old arrived via EMS for "hot flashes".
  3. Sweet, thought I was the only one. Had to do the same thing to a pregnant 16 yr old who called me everything but the name my ID shows, then cried like a baby for her mama when I was forced to stick her 2 times with a 16 gauge, she wouldn't be still. Very necessary due to a c/o lady partsl bleeding, 19 wks gestation.
  4. At 0332 AM a couple came into the ER and asked to b tested for AIDS because "he cheated on me". He in his police uniform in one room and she in another she sitting buck naked with her legs spread as wide as the mississippi river. She stated "he cheated on me with some sleaze and I want to be tested for AIDS" and he, in the other room stating "I need to be tested for AIDS cause my girlfriend thinks the girl I cheated on her with is a tramp". Now please remember this took place in an ER in South Louisiana where Katrina wiped out 13 of the areas 27 hospitals and our wait times were anywhere from 10 to 16 hours.
  5. You have to have critical care experience, at least one year. And ER experience is considered critical care experience.
