Saint Agnes Medical Center Fresno California says "GO AWAY CNA"
"laborer" is oblivious to the lies s/he perpetuates for the CNA. I guess ol' Teamsters like Rose Ann really know how to indoctrinate their organizers. Here's another side of the Saint Agnes story from a real RN -- not a union organizer. From the Fresno Bee: 'Total lack of respect' Sunday, Mar. 08, 2009 The California Nurses Association (CNA) is back trying to "infect" the nurses. Last May, the nurses at Saint Agnes Medical Center spoke and gave the CNA its biggest defeat ever -- 94% of the nurses went to the polls, the results were 452 no, 327 yes. Since May, the CNA has dragged this decision through the courts, and finally, because of a technicality, a judge overturned the vote. Now we are getting ready for another election March 11 and 12. The CNA prides itself on being a "nurses' advocate"! So why did they not listen to us? This shows a total lack of respect for the nurses' voice! I can't even imagine having to deal with them on a daily basis. I keep thinking that maybe it is not our best interest, but our money that they are after (a full-time nurse would pay almost $100 a month in dues!). Let's give them another dose of "no" medicine, so they will finally stay away! Inge Schlegel, R.N. Fresno

Saint Agnes Medical Center Fresno California says "GO AWAY CNA"
Sherwood, Saint Agnes remains union-free. On March 9, 2009, CNA withdrew its petition for a rerun election. Not much of a track record in recent months. In Fresno alone, nurses booted CNA at Community. Now the union walks away from Saint Agnes. Makes you wonder how much longer Central Valley organizer Don N. is going to have a job. Up and down CA, CNA has had a terrible time: *Terminated by the nurses at Scripps *Walked away from losing an election at Inland Valley CA RNs are fed-up with the union, its antics and taking CA nurses money to organize nurses around the country. If only nurses in Arizona, Nevada and Texas knew that this union doesn't live up to its promises. RNJanet

Nurse organizing in Houston
The rumors I heard were true!!! News Mar 4th, 2008 @ 10:37 PM California union moving into Texas hospital - RNs fight back By hou_chris According to This Week in Houston, the California Nurses Association is making a move to unionize the Registered Nurses (R.N.s) at the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center. Cypress Fairbanks is a 185 bed community hospital in Northwest Houston. Registered Nurse, Machel Oswalt says, "We were blindsided by this because, unfortunately, the union works by gagging our management staff. This makes our managers unable to discuss anything about the union with us. They are unable to educate us in any way. So, several of us have done our homework and researched for hours to become educated about the union. We have discovered the union is making numerous verbal promises without written guarantees and nurses are falling for this. Many of the things they are promising us, we already have. We have made multiple attempts to meet in our hospital to educate staff about the union. These meetings were educational only, not anti-union. The union blocked these meetings. We feel that denying us the right to meet in our facility to educate staff about the union is a violation of our First Amendment Rights. They are taking away our voice and our freedom of speech."

Nurse organizing in Houston
I'm exploring new job opportunities in Houston. During my search I've heard rumors of nurse organizing through NNOC at Tenet facilities, mainly Cypress Fairbanks, but at other facilities too. Can anyone tell me more about this?
