I'm so sorry Carole. I guess we have to learn from our mistakes. I'm a new grad too at a job with minimal training and I too am learning as I go. So, I understand your frustration when you make a mistake that seems like you have your patients best interest in mind. Because of my minimal training I just always ask... better safe than sorry!

i am an lvn, i just got my license in june of this year. i'm finding my opportunities are limited because the job market for lvn is not as lucrative as i thought it would be. during school many people told me that i was getting into the right career because of the nursing shortage; fyi the shortage is for rn's. just some food for thought. i am working now in hospice as a crisis care nurse, but it was not my first choice. the money is decent, definitely possible to live on if you live within your means. it took me about 3 months to find this job and about 40 applications later. i like my job, i just wish there was more stable work. i'm still applying and nobody is biting for a new grad. so, i find myself trying to get into rn school (the fastest way possible). luckily, my prerequisites were done before i did my lvn program and i come to realize that in order to really have a stable job i need to be an rn.

I finally have my name on the website. Still waiting for the license. It's been 2 weeks since I've sent it. Thanks to all who've heard me vent and gave me great advice!!! Thanks to some who went through the pain with me HannaBee. FYI- After this summer course of school starting in July I can turn in my application for the RN program. Wish me luck!!! :loveya:

I'm so glad you passed! You're lucky you can drive there and get your license. Well we can celebrate together now.

HannaBee... Did they say what happened to the letter??? OMG What is going on with the mail over there? If it goes out you should be getting it within the week. My letter took 3 days. I hope you get it this week. The waiting is absolute torchure isn't it!. I know how you feel.

HannaBee.. dont worry. just give them another call because they said your letter was mailed before mine and i'm further. it doesn't make any sense. this has to be the most frustrating thing!

Thanks! It was 7 weeks for me. The longest 7 weeks of my life I think. Don't worry yours will come any day now! Keep me posted.

I finally got my letter today and I passed. I'd like to say the waiting is over but now I have to wait for my license. BUT... the worse part is over. :loveya:

well... i don't know if they will give the results in person. i know you can pay for your license in person.

I know stewing can make you think the worse, but stay positive. From what I have heard you get the results quicker if its a fail. Just keep positive. You have enough on you mind of just getting the letter. Once you get it you can stress about the pass or fail. I do get the feeling that they say it was mailed already at the BON just to get you off the phone. I'll give it a few days before I call. Makes you want to just go over there!!!

Hannabee... I called and I know I'm being tortured for no reason. My original results were mailed out may 20th and somehow were sent back to the boards. They told me it was just resent today. I'm praying this week will be the week. Wish me luck. We'll probably find out this week. Let me know when you pass. Thanks for letting me vent!

Hi Hannabee... I know your pain. I've been checking the mail everyday. I run out as soon as I hear the mailperson. But 6weeks and no letter. I'm calling on Monday and hopefully I get a person as nice as you did! I could easily just snap with all this anxiety. It's enough to drive a person crazy. Hopefully it's just lost and there aren't any problems. We can anxiously wait together! Good luck...

Thanks for sharing your story. I'm glad i'm not the only one who's anxiety is getting to them. here in CA we can only wait for our results in the mail. It's been 6 weeks and nothing. I'm going crazy. I got 85 questions... I don't know if that's good or bad.
