  1. Hi there, thanks for your comments. I guess if FMC can't offer anything permanent it will be a case of being proactive and applying to all the other hospitals around the city as you say. ED sounds full-on for a newbie! I'm going to short stay and theatres, looking forward to it :)
  2. Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me what the current situation is like for graduates looking for permanent employment on completion of their grad year? I'm about to move to Adelaide from NZ having been offered a TPPP place at Flinders but its only a 12 month contract. Since I'm packing up my whole life (and my son's) to move across the ditch, I'm now starting to worry about my chances of securing a job when my contract expires. Don't get me wrong, I feel really lucky to have a new grad offer and am really happy to be coming to Adelaide as everyone tells me its a beautiful city. I can't help worrying though!! Any opinions or advice welcomed :)
  3. Thanks a lot for your suggestions!
  4. Hi everyone! I'm soon to be moving to Adelaide to take up a job at Flinders Medical Centre. I'm really excited but having never been to Adelaide I'm not sure where I should be looking for good housing, local primary schools etc. Are there any Adelaide nurses out there who can give me some advice about good neighbourhoods near Flinders Medical Centre? Or should I look for somewhere further away from the hospital and commute? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!!
  5. Hi, thanks so much for your advice! Great to know the Alfred new grads were happy, have met a few here in NZ who definitely weren't feeling that way!
  6. Hi everyone, Have a phone interview coming up soon with The Alfred in Melbourne for their new grad programme. I don't have much experience with behavioural-based interviews and was hoping some of you out there might have some tips for me about what they might ask. Has anyone been through the new grad programme at the Alfred? Would love to hear your advice! Also applying to Queensland Health - if anyone is familiar with their new grad interviews would also be interested in your comments. Thank you!!
