Ok so I am about to start travel nursing is it hard to find contracts? I am a bit nervous been a nurse 4 years and with my current employer for 13 just worried encouragement is welcome as well as honesty
  3. Thanks you New and Apple, I think I might of found one, anyone know much about Voyage, on HH good ratings recruiter very nice and informative, I think I might go with them, so nervous big life change for me.
  4. Thank you for clarification of my post you are right about what I was trying to say, I was at work when I said it so I was typing fast trying to get back to patient care, also I have dyslexia so every so often my writing comes out pretty garbled. But yes this is a new thing they are doing, they are saying the floor nurses have to have dual licenses, we don't have interaction with the ill. Side
  5. ok this may of been covered some where else but i cannot find it, my emplyoer is in iowa and the have ill, they are now requireing us to be dual license one for each sate, ill is not compat so we have to apply for it who pays for that do we have to pay or does the employer.
  6. Good morning i am thinking about getting into travel nursing i was wondering what are some good agencies to go through i am oncology specialty but willing to work almost anything chemo certified. 29yo male no family that would come with me minimal health problems, 4 years as a nurse 3 onc 1 pulm
  7. Ok first I would like to say sorry for missing spelling stuff, I have dyslexia so it get hard some times. Second thank you for the complement yes I did make off both those criteria. UT I have also seen before I became charge that one aide said I thought she'd did it and other said they thought she'd did it so yea that was like a what the heck point. Always be fair with the assignment too sometimes if I have 2 aides and 2 nurses I just have the aide with the nurse works good if they get along., some patient for aides can be just as heavy as for the nurse.
  8. I had this problem once, what I had them do was split up the patients each aide was responsible for say patients room 1-10 the other one rooms 11-20 they could work together if they wanted but I made a decision they are responsible for those patients, and they could not be on break T the same time had be be someone to help and cover
  9. Could of not said it better myself my cna is my life line
  10. Oh defiantly not, my cna has the best knowledge of the floor, on how the patients are doing, that being said she has been a cna for 18 years so she K ow what is going on, I wish at time I could be out of staffing, got that the other night but was so bored, place very sparkly clean before morning
  11. I work night shift, I am not lazy I have lots to do cancer patients don't seem to sleep chemotherapy prep work, and if I do have some down time I am in charge so I have to do that.
  12. On my floor the charge nurse does, I think that is how it should be as a charge nurse my self I always get the input from the other nurses due to working night shift I have my own team so I don't always know what is going on with the other patients
  13. Ok this might of been covered and i have been lookign on the internet but cannot find it, i currently work in a hospital in Iowa boarders Illinois(not a compact state) i was told that in the near future scence we own hospitals in both states they are going to require us to have a license for both states... my question is if they are gonna require it for a state i do not live in do they have to pay for it science it is not a compact state? (sorry for misspelled words i am a bit dyslexic) if anyone out there knows anything i would like to know or if i should just grab my license now befor they require it?
  14. Yea they refuse to change it saying I can wear black or white they don't care
