  1. Thank you for your reply!! I appreciate knowing what other facilities are doing.
  2. What are your practices related to patient discharge? Specifically, do you specify how quick the patient has to be out the door after the discharge order is written (patient must be discharged within three hours of written physician order, for example). Do you consider the patient discharged at the time the physician writes the discharge order, or when the patient is physically out the door? If there is a delay in transportation, do you provide care including meals/meds/glucose monitoring until the patient leaves the facility? Any input/sharing of your practices would be appreciated. Thank you!!
  3. When using a central venous line, I have many questions....at your facilities, 1. What type of central lines are you using (Groshong, Broviac, etc....) 2. What population/s do you use them for? (Pediatric, Adult, etc...) 3. When you give chemotherapy, what size syringe do you use when giving the medication through the central line? I would like to know general chemo and specifically Vincristine. 4. Do you give the chemotherapy with a syringe pump or push? Thanks.
  4. Thank you for your post!:) Forgive my ignorance, what is an IVAD?
  5. What size syringe do you use when administering medications through a central venous line (Hickman, Groshong) with Ped pts? What do you do with smaller volumes of medication being sent by pharmacy in smaller syringes? Any input would be appreciated!! Thanks.
