Private colleges worth the money?
I am considering applying to one of the private colleges here and it's going to cost me about $50k. I'm having a really hard time with this amount. I am on the SLCC waiting list but not "scheduled" to start until 2013. Just curious if it's worth the money to be able to start 2-3 years earlier? Or would it be worth it to get a job at IHC and do their program, work, and take care of kids? Anyone do the IHC program with kids? So confused on what to do. Any advice would be appreciated!:)

What would you do?
I only have one class left until I am done with my pre-reqs and can apply for the nursing program at SLCC. I've been told from many people that the waiting list is 2 years. I have thinking about going to Utah Career College. But something tells me that I should just stick out the waiting list since I have come this far. Any suggestions? I need to just get it done as my family really needs some extra income asap. Do graduates from these type of colleges have a bad name when applying for jobs? Is there any way I can get my BSN in the future besides Univ of Phoenix? Not sure what to do???

Private Colleges???
I am interested in getting my nursing degree with a private college like Ameritech or Utah Career College. I have heard from several people that students from these schools are having a hard time getting hired. I was just wondering if this is true and should I just be put on the waiting lists at the community colleges for 3 years?

CNA hospital job?
I have applied for SEVERAL hospital CNA, PCT, Registrar, etc. positions and no such luck. I don't have any experience in the medical field and this is making it really hard for me. I was just curious if you think it would help if I volunteered at a hospital? Would that give me the needed experience? Is this the kind of experience that would make me more employable? I know that if someone could see my work habits, they would hire me. It's just the lack of experience in health care that is really hurting me. Any suggestions, would be appreciated. Thanks!

CNA on Med/Surg Floor?
I am interviewing for a CNA position in a hospital next week for a med/surg floor. I have never worked as a CNA so I was just curious what kind of duties I would be doing? Not that I am against it, but would I be changing many briefs? Just a little nervous since I have never worked in the health care field before. Thanks!

How do I know if nursing is for me? So confused!
Hello. I'm new here and have a question. I received my CNA license and I am currently working on my pre-reqs (two more classes to go) to get into the nursing program. I am now wondering if this is really my calling and I'm not sure how I decide. I would hate to go through school to get my RN to find out it's not what I want. I'm not sure what it is that is making this so hard to decide. I love helping people and I think I would be a great nurse. BUT, I also love office work and dumb as this may sound, I would love a career where I have to dress up. How do I make this important decision? If I was to work as a CNA, would I get a little taste of what a nursing career would be like? Are there any clerical type medical careers that pay well? Any help would be much appreciated.
