  1. I know this is an old thread but this is why nursing will NEVER EVER EVER NEVER be "professional." You have the idiots at AACN trying to convince other idiots that a degree or certification MAKES you professional. The fact is nursing is over ran with hateful ******* that think they're the queens of the universe and on a mission from God (but I'm not a *****, I'm just asserting myself. whatever idiot). It's a female dominated field, unlike other true professions with real PROFESSIONALs, and that is why you see this crap. Back stabbing and back biting is the female dominated nursing way! PROVE ME WRONG! BTW, I've seen it for 25 years! It is because it is a woman dominated field. Hope this ****** someone off. Truth hurts.
  2. Pt fell and spent the night outside during the winter. Brought to ER coding. Coded for a long while (long time ago can't remember exactly how long) before it was called. While cleaning up er room, nurse had back turned to pt putting things in the trash. Pt reach over and grabbed his leg... you're not dead until you're warm and dead!
  3. A nurse died and went to heaven. St. Peter met her at the pearly gates and told her, "You have a choice. You can work at the hospital here in heaven or you can work at the hospital in hell. " He then took her to the hospital in heaven. The nurses had 6-7 pt's each and were running like crazy. The patients were complaining and the doctors were mad and irritable. All this worried the nurse so she asked Peter if she could go see the hospital in hell. "Sure." he replied. The next day she visited the hospital in hell where the devil himself showed her around. The nurses were sitting around laughing and having fun. The ratio was 3:1 and the patients were the best. The doctors were nice and polite. The nurse didn't have to think long and went back and told Peter that she had decided. "I will work at the hospital in hell!" "Ok." Peter replied. The next day the nurse showed up for her first shift. The nurses were rude and hateful. The doctors were AS*H*L*S and the patients appreciated NOTHING! "What happened?" The nurse asked Satan. "It was so nice here yesterday... it was perfect!" Satan replied, "OH... yesterday... yesterday we were recruiting you!"
  4. You want to relocate you can pick your job (to a point). I'm in the Dallas area and !right now! there are jobs. The facility I work at has, I believe, around 100 openings. I could work seven days a week, seriously! What's hard to find is quality/qualified nurses to fill them. $: New grads... don't hold me to it... I think start in the mid $20's in this area. One of the major healthcare players in this area is the Baylor system. They are building a new facility, north of Dallas, within a 3 minute walk from my house. Opening with approximately 100 beds with plans to expand to 400. We're all asking how're they going to staff it? Another major system has plans for a facility here also. Guess pay is going up!
