hi all. So, i've been really thinking about the nursing career but for some reason something always holds me back. I just heard about radiation therapy and i didn't know it existed. now, i'm interested to know more about it. My dream would be to work with cancer patients and i thought i would do oncology nursing. I'm just little confused. Is there anyone out there that was a radiation therapist that knows what the field is like? or nurses that were therapists or the other way around? Any advice will help. thanks

hello everyone... last night i posted regarding my dilema of doing RN straight or doing the LVN then RN. this is part of my research... can anyone tell me how it was for them to work as an LVN and go to school to get a BSN or ADN? IS it more stressful? Did you find your work was willing to work with you when you went to school? Oh, was there any bridge programs to get into? thank you so much for taking the time.

thank you guys for taking the time to give me advice. it looks like many of you suggest that i might as well wait to get into an RN program instead of going through LVN school, since my ultimate goal is to become an RN. I see it and thank you i'll look into that as well. My one fear is that because of the wait list, etc... i feel like no one will accept me and time will just pass by. thanks for the advice.

has it been years or what? Life moves fast. Anyways, i have a question i need help with. i have a bachlors of art degree and i want to go into nursing. I'm looking into an lvn program because the accelerated BSN, and community college ADN have a crazy wait list. By the time i finish my pre-reqs, apply and hopefully get in, it'll be three years. I'm not in a position money wise to do that. A lot of people have adviced me that lvn school and the experience as an lvn will help me in the future as a nurse. My question is... once i finish lvn, is there a lvn-BSN or lvn-accelerated bsn programs for those that already have a bachlors degree? some people say i'm wasting my time doing the lvn school if ultimatly i want to be an RN. But, i'm seeing it as 1)i support myself 2)i have an idea and experience what it's like to be a nurse... i don't know. I do want to be an RN but i won't kill myself if it takes a while as i do my lvn. But i just can't wait three years to get into RN school. Anyone in my situation? Can someone help with some advice? thanks

hello everyone. i have a few questions to ask and please do reply,i'm lost! Currently i'm an ethnic studies major at a University and i'll be finishing fall 08. I want to eventually become a nurse practitioner but they say it's best to first gain experience as a nurse. My question is, do i have to go back to school again for another four years to get my BSN? or is an ADN good enough? I know you can become an RN with an ADN but will i be able to further my education to a Master's degree with an ADN? please i'm really confused and i have no clue as to what the next move should be. please, respond.
