  1. To answer your question: Base Starting pay at ClearLake for an RN is around 23.00/hr, which is pretty competitive to the Med Center minus the gas, communte, and parking issues. If intrested in ClearLake they should be having a Graduate Nurse dinner around april. This will be a great way to get your foot in the door they feed you, give door prizes and allow you to sit at a table with the nurse managers of the unit of your desire the whole night and allow you to ask question and hand out your resume. Any other questions feel free to ask, I just started working there in June and so far love it!!!
  2. I am graduating in May 08 and am very intrested in L&D. I am starting to get everything together for the application process and was wondering what you guys thought of as far as best/worst places to work in the houston area on an L&D unit, where should I apply? Thanks for any advice you may have good or bad!!!
  3. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to all that have replied. This is my first time on this website and am floored by all the support you can get on here. All the advise is helpful please keep it coming. Also I wondered how you handle this: If I am applying to several jobs and get several interviews, what is the right response to the recruiter if you want to wait on excepting the offer to see what others are offering. If you tell someone you are thankful for the offer and you would like some time to think about it, is this ok, and if so how long do you get before you give them your answer?
  4. For those of you that have been through it I was hoping you could shed some light on my situation. I am fixing to start my last semester in nursing school (BS program) and will be graduating in May. I wanted to know when I should start putting in for jobs and getting my resume out there. Is this something I have to wait for until I pass the boards or will HR interview before then and give you a job even before you graduate. Thanks for any advice you have!
