Gulanick care plan book, anyone familiar?
Hi- I'm not familiar with that book - am also a 2nd semester student. I purchased the Thomson Med-Surg Care Plan book as many fellow students had it last semester and raved about it. I'm very happy with the purchase and hope this info might help you as well!

Struggling to maintain happiness on the night shift
Hi- Hang in there - first of all, you are a new grad and I think all of us experience the 'real world blues' out of the gate. Secondly, night shift is hard to adjust to and throws our rhythms off, so try to be patient. I think what you need to do is put your time in on this shift with the hope of tranferring to something with better hours. New grads are always bottom feeders when it comes to shift work and you won't be a 'relatively new grad' for long! Jobs that would fit what you described would be clinic, outpatient radiology, etc. but the pay is usually lower. Good luck and hang in there - I don't think your frustration is about nursing as much as it is about your schedule and the co-worker whose a thorn in your side!

LPN-ASN What's the best way?
Hi- I am currently an LPN doing generals to get on a waiting list for ASN school. Am considering maybe going with one of the 'college credit brokers' - (independent study module) programs to speed things up instead of continuing in traditional school. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences? Would appreciate your thoughts - semester starts in about ten days. Yikes!

Online LVN-ASN Courses - Has anyone tried these?
Hi- I just found this site tonight and am in a quandry. I am currently licensed as an LPN and have been working on generals for an ASN degree. Waiting lists are long and I am looking at ways to achieve ASN as fast as possible. I have been talking to a couple of the online 'credit brokers' and am wondering if anyone else has had any experience (good or bad) or thoughts about using this this route ~ or am I better off staying in traditional courses? Any feedback would be appreciated!
