  1. Mediports and Hickman Catheters

    medsm posted a topic in General Nursing
    Where can I get information and education on Hickman catheters and mediports? We see patients in outpatient surgery who present with these catheters and we are asked to access them to administer their preop meds etc. I am not comfortable doing this since we do not do this all the time and are not sure what we can administer through them. Anyone out there who can help me with this? Thanks a bunch!
