  1. I'm a new grad. LVN and I can't get a job!!!...It's been almost a month now and I haven't found a job yet that's going to give me the chance to start off my career! I am giving up and so frustrated with all these interviews and applying in person thing and getting nothing off of it. I live in Southern California and I thought nurses were in demand, but I guess I'm wrong! I applied at about over 20 places already and nothing till this day... Should I turn to something else or go back to Customer Service ? I need a job!!!
  2. Hi all! I just got my LVN license 2 months ago in Aug. and I recently became employed by a nursing agency/registry which I started in September. This is my first LVN job ever and they had placed me in an Adult Day Care for 3 weeks to fill in for a nurse that was out...and I absolutely loved it there!!! And now that the nurse came back, my last day was last week and I'm out of a job again... The agency I'm working for are not calling me for any other jobs? What's the deal? I thought that after they place you somewhere, they would place you in another facility immediately?!?! My question is as a New grad, does anyone think that I should be working for an agency or should I just look for a permanent job right now? I've actually been looking, but I live in Orange County and all the places I've applied at tell me ''We will give you a call back" etc...etc...I wait and wait, but no call back and I just feel like I wasted my time filling out there applications! and here in Orange County...there are so many nurses! and I just feel like who would wanna hire a new grad with no experience!?!? I actually want to get into Adult Day Care, but I wonder if they require experience? I am getting so frustrated, I thought nurses were in demand and I thought after I passed my exam, It would be so easy to get a job...I don't want to be employed by this registry anymore because there are not even returning my calls or giving me another case...I need another job! HELP! Oh and also I am very flexible with my schedule...I don't care what time I work and I am available 24/7...so why does no one want to hire me!!! Does it take time...Because I've been job searching for about a week now!
  3. Hi Everyone, I recently just passed my LVN boards and got my license...Now I have to go job hunting! I've been waiting for this for sooo long and am very excited to start working, but I am also so terrified of starting to work...because the only experience I've got is in school during clinicals etc...I feel like I can't do this, I feel like I don't know enough! I am just really scared to start working as a LVN because in nursing school, I always had help and now I'm going to be on my own and it scares me sooo much...I also am terrified of interviews...I have a terrific resume, but when it comes to interviews, I feel like I just blow it...Does anyone know if they quiz you about nursing material in the interviews?Like if I were to apply at nursing homes? Any advice would really help me out...Thanks!:)

  8. I took my test on the 18th of June for my 4th try...And I haven't got my results yet?!?!?!?!? I stopped on 205 and I feel like I did sooo bad, but I really don't know...This wait is killing me...I called the boards and they said it should be coming soon, but right now I am scared!!! Does anybody have any idea of why it's taking so long, I've never had to wait this long for my results to come...at the most I've only waited 3-4 weeks, but this is over a month and a week now!!! What is going on?!?!

Hello everyone I am scheduled to take my Nclex-PN in about 2 weeks...for my 4th try!!!yup 4th try!!!...I have been studying since April after I found out I failed the 3rd time again...I got all near passing...Right now I really can't explain how I feel...I guess burnt out and brain fried:bluecry1:...I am so tried of studying for this test and being in the same position...I'm not really sure if I am ready to take this test in 2 weeks, but I've already took 2 live reviews for it and have been studying somewhat the last 3 months!!! Like I said I got all near passing the 3rd time and really thought I passed because I seriously put sooo much effort into trying to pass at that time around and the questions seemed so easy and after I found out I failed,I just felt like crap and became very depressed!!! I don't know if I can do this anymore and sometimes I really am not motivated to study at all anymore...I'm going to take my test again in 2 weeks, whether or not I am ready because I don't know what else I can possibly study...I think I have every book out there in the world lol...but yeah I just really need some kind of motivation and good advice from people out there that have been through this etc...my close family and friends are so tired of hearing me whine about this all day long:scrying:

Here's my story, I graduated a year ago from the Vocational Nursing program...I've taken the nclex-pn my third time a month ago and found out that I failed again!!! Right now I currently need a job that's somewhat in the medical field because i am sooo broke and I can't keep waiting for this lvn thing to happen...i don't want to be a cna/caregiver because i feel that it will stress me out a lot more while i study for this 4th try....I wish I could get an interim permit but i know they only allow that before u take the nclex the first time...and I was also thinkin about being a social worker in the nursing homes? does anyone know what exactly a social worker does in the nursing homes...there's this upcoming seminar in my area that will train me to become a social worker but i am not sure what a social worker does? can someone please help and tell me what a social worker does if they were to work in a nursing home? or is there any way i can work as an lvn without a license or is that impossible?
  12. I just found out yesterday that I failed my boards again for the 3rd time!!! I seriously don't know what else to study!!! I feel like I have every book in the world and i really thought I did good on the exam...What am I doing wrong?!? first time i took it, i stopped at 85, 2nd time- 102, and this last time-205!!!...I really feel like giving up on nursing...can i please get advice on any really good nursing reviews out there? I've already studied lippincots, saunders, the hurst book, and exam cram...and even took a live 3 day seminar review called lifesavers, but didn't help...does anyone know any good live reviews that will really help me?I know they are a bit pricey, but i am willing to pay...i want to be a nurse already i graduated a year ago!!!
  13. I've taken the Nclex-pn twice already and failed...I started reviewing again for my 3rd try ...I'm doing alot of questions about 100-200 questions a day and scoring myself...my scores are in the 50-60 percentages still!!!...this is so frustrating....why am i scoring so low?...i feel like I can't do this anymore...I am giving up and getting so depressed about this whole NCLEX!!! And to also mention that in nursing school...i struggled, but i made it in the end...I basically just want to know if there is a good Nclex pn book out there that is easy to understand? and any other tips on passing this test...I really wanna pass this next try!!!
  14. Thanks so much...I for sure will try this and get started...it does sound like a lot of work, but I got to do it and it will be all worth it in the end...thanks
  15. Hey thanks...I want to look into that review u mentioned...I had some audios that didn't really work out for me...I wanted to know if these audios were easy to understand and if it had a book to follow along with?
